It’s a mock test, not an active teaching lesson. They will just take note and tell you at the end what you did wrong.

I drive a manual car, once I passed my test I drive one handed. Having the other free for shifting is so much easier and makes me feel safer and more in control. You have to take your hand off to shift using the gear stick anyway so driving with one hand isn’t exactly unsafe if done diligently and is actually permitted. You don’t fail a test if you do that.

Rule 163 of the Highway Code states :- only overtake on the left if the vehicle in front is signalling to turn right, and there is room to do so, stay in your lane if traffic is moving slowly in queues, if the queue on your right is moving more slowly than you are, you may pass on the left, it’s annoying when someone is in lane 2 not overtaking anybody or not turning right, they should be in lane 1 which is the normal driving lane when you’re not overtaking or when you’re not turning right, it’s also annoying when they are in lane 2 driving at under the speed limit and not overtaking anybody or not turning right because you can’t undertake them unless they’re turning right or unless traffic is moving slowly in queues.

It's a bit of a messy roundabout, tbh, but basically: he was in the second lane when he got to the traffic lights on the roundabout, and could have moved to the first lane from the traffic lights out to his exit (instead of exiting to the third lane and having to cross back into the second lane then into the first lane).
