There isn't a video as far as I know where Fred Dibnah ladders India MIll Tower, Darwen, Lancashire England. If you want to see the chimney but don't live local to it, just go onto Google Earth and use StreetView. I used to go to part of the mill complex back in 2005 to load trucks and just occassionally steeplejacks would be working on the chimney. I can tell you, standing on the ground and watching a guy climb up 303ft to the top makes you a bit dizzy!

The guys start a food fight and Mel pulling the mom/grandma, "does anyone have wet wipes" is perfect! Why yes Mel, my mother had little packets of those in her pocket book for 30 plus years! Also, why is Mel wearing her "non-performance trousers" to do a TV show? Was it laundry day or what?

I have a step uncle who was in Nam. He would tell the most hilarious stuff. Even when he was in a real fight, he'd make it funny. I haven't that long since then.

21st century advanced technology with an 18th century constitution combined with over the top religious influence plus an entrenched belief that anything for the common good is socialism, a term which is regarded on a par with child abuse.

Fred had probably drilled those holes on a previous job, they were then pointed with cement, therefore he just needed a cold chisel

you can drink non alcoholic drinks in a pub. I think they even have to offer tab water for free. But you always get this reaction when you say "i don't drink" usually a "what never?"... But then people get over it and move one.

Dynamite was incredibly useful. More so than the insanely dangerous nitro glycerin it replaced. For mining and stuff. It's not just thrown in western or used as weapon. However, him feeling bad about the latter made him set up this prize. Beside all that, what did you think astronauts do when they are for hours in their suits? Of course they have mechanical ... installations inside. And Apollo 11 walked for 2 hours on the Moon. 15, 16, and 17 had 3 times 7hours. ISS spacewalks are also often in the 7hour region. And it's hard work and you have to drink a lot.

Just mulling this over… when Fred takes the ladder back down he must have stood on each ladder WHILST knocking out the top dog! One wrong swing of the hammer, hit the ladder sideways and it’s nanty-boo! 😮 Utter respect for Fred!

Yes. Since the documentary, the rock has been accompanied by many new additions which include lots more info on the commandos and others who made it all happen. I live in Cornwall and was pleased when the improvements were made. People are not this hardy anymore. A world of ungrateful snowflakes nowadays.

Marines flew Cobras, the infantry was Army, then you had BUFF with the Air Force, and topped off with the Navy carrier strike group. All 4 of our heavy hitters were at play here not just 3. Thought you'd be interested in knowing that.

Slavery? A gang of Irishmen in 21st century England were convicted of slavery. They lured homeless men with offers of work and then simply refused to pay them. Instead beating them and holding them captive in trailers. True story.

The dynamite was huge because it made handling nitroglycerine near-infinitely safer and more practical. Huge applications in mining and other industries. The prize was also instated by Nobel himself, through his will, because while in France he read his own obituary, with a journalist believing him to have died denouncing him as the merchant of death (in fairness, probably more so for his involvement in actual arms manufacturing).

Gerald Ford was not Nixon's "homie". Nixon had trusted Spiro Agnew and had been betrayed. Nixon was not Impeached. He was going to be Impeached. Nixon F'd up in more ways than the Watergate break in. At that moment America no longer trusted it's government, . . . Vietnam, Kent State, OPEC, . . . it was an unending list. It had to end. That is why Nixon resigned. But there was no one in his administration that was eligible to be President that he felt he could trust. That is why Gerald Ford became the VP. Nixon didn't need a homie at his side, he needed someone he could trust to do no harm.

There is no rule that the singer has to be from the country they represent. Often the composers of the songs ar written by people from other countries as well. But it has to be produced by the country they are representing.
