Got they device working in the end. Needed to do a hard reset and it's worked perfectly since.

On the side of the device is a pin sized hole When it is on put a pin in the hole and press down the switch inside for 15 seconds The device will turn itself off and on again

finally got it working after internet provider did some remote fiddling with the router, so seems fine for now, but loses connection every so often, so still not a perfect solution.

I got mine eventually working after doing a Hard Reset. There is a pin sized hole on the side. Hold a pin in it for 10 seconds while it is switched on. After doing this the wifi started working again. I have since invested in TP-Link 600 Mbps Nano Powerline Adapters as it provides a much faster network connection than over wifi.

Same here mine says connected to WiFi but does not say secure. put the password in and still the same. All other devices work fine. Really pissed off with this box now. Got it from Banggood in China.
