5 years later, the tripod is much better. It cost under AU$100 but the postage is the same as the cost so by the time GST was added, I paid just over AU$200 for the unit and shipping incl taxes. The connections are different, the head is different. It's not exactly top of the line stuff but it's solid and doesn't seem to have the problems you encountered 5 years ago. I've only just gotten it so time will tell. I will take it on a few professional gigs.

Thanks for sharing, I was designing a basement apartment and I’m thinking of incorporating 4 units into the ceiling in a line spanning the the whole length of the apartment from the living room through the hallway to the bedroom, the span is about 35 feet. I was curious to know how much space between them you would recommend as I don’t want one skylight light overlapping the other and cancelling the effect on the wall. And I haven’t decided yet between the 1’x2’ or the 1x4’ maybe even a 1’x6’.

Tried everything! Cleaned sensors and took out the small plastic film like someone commented. And nothing! Ugh!

The requirement to remove the lens BEFORE removing the prism only applies to the TTL pentaprism meter, not the non-meter prism. The TTL pentaprism with meter has a pin that inserts into the chain whereas the non-metered prism does not. No risk of breaking the chain with the non-metered prism. BUT, it's good practice to remove the lens first regardless of the type of prism you have.

Peak designs straps are crazy uncomfortable. It’s super thin and with a full pack, it digs into your shoulders. The prvke has solid straps that are very comfortable.

But to get something out of your WANDRD case, you have to put it on a ground, which could be muddy and wet, snowy leaves, rocks, etc…

The 6x4.5 is a half-frame to the 6x9 which is what I'd call 'Full Frame' in medium format (same aspect ratio as small format). The GS645 is not BW film with colored filter friendly at all. Slow and cumbersome to use colored filters. You have to screw the filters in to the lens hood (takes long fingernails and prone to finger prints on the filter). And the lens hood does not stow with the folding lens. The filters need to have a thin metal ring; otherwise, you'll be hard-pressed to get a few threads engaged with the sloping sides of the lens hood. And 40.5mm colored filters are not as common (less so when it needs to be a thin ring filter). It also helps to have long fingernails to operate the ISO control. But otherwise it is a nice camera.

When you look up, do you get the effect of a point source light the sun? I believe most of these skylights use a sheet of acrylic/PMMA embedded with titanium dioxide nanoparticles. I wonder if one can get their hands on just this material. It wasn't common ten years ago when these skylights started popping up, but maybe now?

Is there a brand out there that has no flares or better flare resistance with their diffusion filters ?

I just received my HeadONEv2 and my SlinderONEv3 and was hoping that all these issues where corrected to the newer versions in the meantime but NOPE. Still shitty as shown which is very sad even if it comes with an discount. I'm curious about what the support will say but i'm more then disappointed.

this is an issue that has to do with the physics of audio recorders. i had the same issue with a zoom 5 and a simple dongle with a DAC or extender stopped it. it has to do with the electricity and how the cord transfers energy. your audio equipment will pick it up and you'll get a static.

Did you buy the tripod and head separately? If so, maybe that is the reason the case does not fit both? Wondering if my combo will have a case that holds both.

It's quite a murky situation. I own a V850 scanner and recently encountered a stubborn purple streak along with a fainter green one. In search of a solution, I stumbled upon this video and began tinkering with what they call "sensors" here. I hesitate to label them sensors; they seem to be mere plastic pieces affixed with Velcro, covering two holes leading into the scanner's interior. No matter how thoroughly I cleaned these pieces, the result remained unchanged. Eventually, I decided to remove these plastic squares altogether, leaving the holes exposed. I even cleaned the holes with a toothpick before a test scan, but alas, the stripes persisted. Then I spent a long time cleaning the scanner's glass with alcohol, especially the area from which the scanner starts its motion - both the top and bottom glass. It seems I managed to remove whatever was causing the issue because the pronounced violet stripe disappeared, though a faint green one remains, which I still can't seem to eliminate. My "engineering conclusion" is that those two holes, once covered by the plastic squares, might play a role in calibration, but evidently, they aren't the only factors. Scratches or dust on either side of the glass might also contribute to calibration.

I just faced the same problem , the pattern problem . and after watching this video I came to know that 5d mark iii makes this kind of pattern on underexposed area. now i just love my Nikon d750 and Z6
