Quite a unique signal for a penalty! It definitely brings some personality and confidence to the table, but how advisable is it to use?
@RefereeChannel2 күн бұрын
Using personality in body language is what seperates referees. If you look at tv referees everyone has different signal types.
@Unserious_4272 күн бұрын
@@RefereeChannel that´s true, it was a genuine question. For me your signal looked fantastic! I have just heard that some ref observers can be quite strict on what kind of signals are expected.

would it be too late to call the foul or has the advantage materialized?

That would be too late. Because for the pass itself he wasn’t influenced by the opponents.

I’d love to see the dB measured by the refs ears compared to at a distance. Some whistle designs look like they’d direct the sound more away from the refs ears.
@RefereeChannel3 күн бұрын
A test like that would probably be impossible to get a fair result out of. A measurment should be from at least 1 meter but that test would be from much closer and give uneven results. But ask of a model and I can inform about how it feels to the ears.

@@RefereeChannel I would think that the volkeen compared to a standard fox40 would be different. The volkeen and similar seem like they direct the sound out where as the fox doesn’t?
@RefereeChannel3 күн бұрын
Valkeen produces sound directly upwards and away from the ear downwards. The downward sound is the one that’s heard the most but since it’s not directed to the ear it’s not bad. Fox 40 Classic has 3 channels. One downwards and two upwards away from the ear. Basically never hurts the ear. Depends on what you mean with a ”standard fox 40. I assumed you meant the Classic.
@ManjaroBlack3 күн бұрын

Man you're so good at it. One question: Do you practice these signals/whistles alone? My dream is to be a referee. There's no better channel for people like me to learn. Thank you mate! Edit: 1. Can you make a video recommending (and/or testing) linesmen flags?. Think it would be very useful to assistant referees. 2. Could you make a video showing referee positioning and good practices (also described in the actual IFAB Laws of the game)?
@RefereeChannel6 күн бұрын
Thank you. I don’t practice like that. I have seen myself refereeing on videos and learned from that. Problem with making a positioning video is that if I don't have two teams on the field it wouldn't be practical. I would stand there alone without reference points. I will make assistant referee signals videos. I don't know about reviewing flags since they aren't as popular as whistles.
@marc-dantas6 күн бұрын
@@RefereeChannel Hmm, sad about the positioning video, you could film a real match in which you apply these good practices and just make some observations and arrows and stuff digitally. About ARs, please do this video. It would be very useful.

I saw that you use Garmin watches for your matches. 1) Could I ask which GPS settings do you use, because I have problems with my distances during matches (f.ex. Sunday league match and I my watches showed I´ve run more than 10,5 km, or as AR on U19 match more than 5km). I use the "All system" settings and I think that it is so accurate, that it track my left hand, then if I turn myself, sensor recognize movement of my hand a record it as 1-1,2m move. 2) What app do you use as your referee timer during match? Sorry English is not my native language.
