Great but please don’t classicify it with too much vibrato.

I've learned all these five tunes with my fiddle teacher in Dublin! I love all of them, especially inisher, butterfly, and the congress reel. I wish I could play half as well one day

Sorry, I don't think that the last tune at 5:30 is The Congress reel. It's rather "Mulqueen's reel" also know as "Free and Easy".

As an Irishman, seeing Japanese musicians, whose musical culture I love, play the music of my country, it fills my heart with joy. Inis Oírr was the first piece of music to make me cry because of sheer beauty, and I've been singing the butterfly all day today while walking through Dublin city. To then find this is a blessing. Go raibh míle, míle maith agaibh!

My father transcribed Inisheer to sheet music for me from a long forgotten CD of Irish music. I was probably 9, and had been playing bluegrass and Irish fiddle for a few years. 25 years later it is still my favorite song. I lost it for a while, and when I found it again it was here. Far better than I'd ever heard it. Just amazing. Truly a beautiful, and nostalgic set.

WHY wasn't this recommended to me years ago.. It is so so beautiful, even more so when being appreciated and played with such feeding, such emotion by a fellow beautiful culture. There are rare moments, very rare moments when you are witness to somethng beautiful, indescribable beyond words. For me this sone of those precious moments. This is going on and staying on my playlist. Thank you so much for this wonderful surprise.

Great to hear Scottish music being highlighted like this. And credit to Setagawa - not as painful as most classical musician's attempts at traditional music. To hear the real thing search for performances by the composer Tom Anderson, or by Scottish National Treasure Aly Bain - king of the Shetland fiddlers and a pupil of Tom's.
@ConsairtinFergus4 жыл бұрын
Not bad, but I prefer It played by Tom Anderson. Or by Aly Bain.

So... I think... Inisheer 0.00, The Butterfly 2.16, Drowsy Maggie 3.56, Cooley's reel 4.49 then the Congress Reel 5.30. Any others agree?

So peaceful and kind of sad .The fading light ,meaning the fading population on the shetland island's.
@jenibern58013 ай бұрын
that's not the meaning. I had the privilege of meeting Tam when I was in my late teens and he played the tune for me, he told me he was travelling back from playing one might and as he looked back over the island, he could see all the lights in the windows being put out for the night, or slokit ( snuffed out) not for a fading population. it's more in remembrance of loved one's lost.
