I now have the same car but with the 3.0l diesel engine.. The car drives great.. I love it.. You need to be aware that you change the drive chain 🙂 that is the only problem..

You don’t have to change the timing chain on f10 after 2012. The whole idea of a drive chain is that you don’t have to replace it. If you have to replace the drive chain on a bmw 2012 or newer then the car wasn’t looked after. Change oil every 8-10000 miles. Never forget. Listen to the engine. If it’s making a knocking rattling noise then the timing chain is on the way out. The n47 engine suffered from timing chain failure. But from 2012 onwards they should not.

this is a feature older cars got aswell. strange to think that my father's 2010 wx touran got this feature aswell. not sure when first production car got this feature with keys opening windows, but in 1956 they had made the first electrical windows on cars.

You need to hold the lock button for about 2 seconds and they will fold. If they don't, you need to code them.

BlerixB there are few options. You can do it yourself with phone apps and a obd2 dongle which you buy on ebay. Phone apps are BimmerCode for BMW or Carly for BMW, first one is a bit cheaper and probably better... for Carly app they recommend their special obd2 dongle, which you get from their site. You can even do it the expert way with obd2 CABLE and PC program (NCS, ...) but its hard. Other solution is to go on bimmerfest site and make a forum topic about coding your mirrors (and alot of other stuff) and you will find someone that can do it remotely via internet, but you will need obd2 cable and a laptop.

some f10/f11 models do not have an option to fold mirrors (not even with programming)
