9.5/10. Even though it is a slab basement, I would still put a Drain pan, Pad, and float switch under the system 😁. Beautiful work!

Is that needed to be brazen or no? Can you send me the link for the tool you use?

At 45 years in hvac, how many are tired of constant new regulations, tools and test instruments to buy, new refrigerants, fake SEER ratings, dirty noisy trucks, too many toolbags that never have the proper tools in them. Many small parts from pocket which end up in the washing machine or dresser top along with wire nuts and Malco screws. I like these new ideas for tools and components but I am tired of buying this stuff. Do I retire or buy new A2L tools? I just bought a new vacuum pump Yellow Jacket 6cfm 1.5 year ago and it fell out of truck cracked reservoir, fixed with JB weld.I have been doing this way to long, it was to be my last one, ha. Thanks for listening.

I'm in for about the same time... If you own your own company then you know that your profit is higher then ever before on service and install, making it worth the investment... If you are just a mechanic working for someone else you shouldn't be buying all these new tools you need, your company should be supplying it to you... plus you're making more money than ever before...Bottom line it's the same shit just a different day, The principal of refrigeration hasn't changed...

Awesome.. Nice to see some Tin Knocking skills!! I work with my dad for the last 6 years full time.. he started doing helping his neighbor in his shop making duct work when he was 11 and his buddy was 8.. my dad is only 52 . He retired for nypd 7 years ago. Did duct work installs and units on remodels as well as swap outs. Few days a week because he worked nights. As well as weekends. I worked everday 7 days a week during summer when in school. Ans ever weekend. . Most people don't know but back in the day. U had different guys who did their specific job. You had tin knockers. Do the duct work. Installers set the unit inside and out. Electrician did all the wiring high and low voltage and another did the plumbing lines set and drain.

Do you not insulate it because it’s below the coil, or is the room conditioned?

Great install. I would rather write any information inside the panel of the unit or disconnect. I'm just saying it looks cleaner. But nice install.

Why isn't the plenum insulated for the first 4 feet to stop expansion and contraction of the metal ,not to mention the condensation that can and will happen during Ac ?

It all looks clean… but why waste the time with the elbows and bends… it doesn’t really make it look any better than a nice straight run would and you negatively impact you suction pressure. Even in a 5/8 suction line a long radius elbow adds about 1ft of equivalent suction line length. And more fittings… This is me genuinely asking. I work in commercial refrigeration and do not often mess with residential systems like this. But a tiny suction line like that I would want as straight as possible

Why is it necessary to build a riser? Why not just to set A Coil on top of furnace and do a duct work from Coil and up?
