Kathy and I had the honor of studying dance with Richard Powers in the 80’s and 90’s. He came to Connecticut 2-3 times a year to conduct intensive dance weekends. We, in groups and as a couple, danced both socially and professionally. We are now retired from dancing, but have cherished memories. Thank you Richard for a lifetime of dancing memories!!!

@@moxieola I don’t know if you remember, but after one of the workshops I drove you to the airport. You told me you always wanted to try a New England delicacy, Whole Belly Fried Clams, so we went to a seafood restaurant, The Blue Lobster, before going to the airport. You loved them!!! That restaurant is still open.

Golly, this kind of stuff is so important for young people. I'm 70 and as a kid I had to go to dancing class and every year there was a square dance and then later in my 20's I was in a singing group that also had a square dance. I know this is not a square dance and having dated a VERY polish girl, know that they are not dancing a polka, but it is still great. Young people who are actually dancing as couples, touching their partners and havingfun doing it is fantastic! Good job whoever organized this. Folk dancing polka and square dancing, are so important to our history.
