Moving out? Are you living at home; if so can you pay some rent and living expense money to enable a quicker debt pay off? Are you living "low rent" and will keeping in the current place enable a quicker debt free journey? Right now, and until you can begin some retirement investing, keeping your "operating expenses" (or living expenses) as low as possible will make a tremendous difference in your future financial life. Consider read as much as you can about Warren Buffet; via borrowed materials from the library of course.
@budgetbabeairie25 күн бұрын
Yes this is the plan for now; however I do need to move out for other reasons. But I am paying off as much debt as I can
@terryhenderson42425 күн бұрын
@@budgetbabeairie Moving out can be expensive. All the more so if you "need" all the things. Back in the day, pretty much before my days, girls and thier families built up what was called a "hope chest" which was sorta, kinda a bit of a dowry too. Do consider starting a list of all the things you would like to have to start a new life on your own; and also in a roommate situation. Allow yourself to make it pretty extensive and even well beyond what you can reasonably expect to own. (Truth is, many people begin with very little and over the course of 5, 10, and 20 to 30 years end up with a lot of "stuff". It doesn't begin this way unless folks have whipped out credit cards.) Look at your list, add to your list, and think about what you truly NEED; and also want. When holiday gift giving requests from you come up, consider that list among your requests. Meanwhile join your Facebook Buy Nothing, local gifting groups, and flash give groups to begin to pick up stuff from on your list; bring it home, pack it well, and be selective about how much "stuff" you collect. In some areas freecycycle.org is active, items are put curbside which can be picked up, and there are freebies available to collect after community garage sales, individual's garage sales, and organization's rummage sales. For how you want free, to get a feel for the types of stuff people get rid of in your community, and to use those gifting opportunities to up scale what you collected by getting rid of the lesser stuff. I will assume that you will be collecting mostly in your room and then you will need to move it to where you are going; take care of what you collect.

True bougie and old wealth tends to buy quality, statement pieces from jewlery to leather goods to clothing which stand the test of time and are identifiable without a logo. Consider haunting the places where estate and consignment items are sold WITH YOUR FUNDS LEFT AT HOME to discover more about this world. Then when you go forth to buy bougie, do so with these understandings.

Try not to pay off all your student loans loans you will need a few in order to get a big purchase like a house or new car.
@budgetbabeairieАй бұрын
Really?! Let me know the deets girlie
@Books_and_BudgetАй бұрын
That's definitely not true for most people. Sure, closing a line of credit or loan account can sometimes hit your credit score (for a time), but having a large amount of unpaid debt is DEFINITELY worse in terms of getting good interest rates for a house or car.
@terryhenderson424Ай бұрын
@@budgetbabeairiePlease take the time in the next few months to make an appointment with a bank or credit union mortgage loan officer/ counselor. Take your debt profile information and ask for general direction on how to proceed towards an eventually home purchase. Also try to get information on the names and numbers of the different FICO scoring systems; once you've got that, you can look up the details on line. Even if buying a home is hit on your immediate horizons, this infirmation is good to know.
@tmusa200224 күн бұрын
No, no, and no. Please do not “try” not to pay off all student loans. Pay that sht off. There are quick ways to raise a score if need be. Much later. Get this debt behind you!
@tamaraliscia340817 күн бұрын
Telling someone with debt, especially this amount, to not pay it off because they *might* want to make a large purchase, sometime, is bad advice. Not to mention, when one does consider making a large purchase, they probably won't qualify, and if they do, the interest rate will be higher than average. Not true. Credit scores are determined by several different, set-in-stone factors. How old is the debt? What kind of debt? Are payments sporadic or regular? How much is the total debt, as a percentage of credit limits, and above factors. Paying off a credit card and closing the account temporarily causes a dip in one's credit score but it isn't permanent. Insurance companies, cell phone providers, some utility companies look at credit scores. If income doesn't support the debt, and cover living expenses, there's a big problem.
