This would add so much color and depth to a video game where you could see the writing move. I hope you get to make your own story around this language or meet an awesome partner who can do it with you.

I'm currently crafting a language, and it is HARD. Mine is nowhere near this pretty or detailed. It's barely any different from English in structure. I tip my hat to you and your creativity.

I want to imagine how this language was created in-universe. I can imagine some young noble in a freshly developing province looking into his koi pond and thinking to himself how beautiful the koi are, before coming to the conclusion that they are so perfect that surely they’re the means that deities use to communicate, so he began to passionately study the movement of the koi and rippling of the water, sharing his concepts with friends or wandering academics, some of whom would catch the idea and spread it across the province until it became a new dialect that was used to establish independence from the main nation (pick your poison as to the reason why they established independence)

How do i find out what a english word is in tsevhu?? :D
@marcusrauch422327 күн бұрын
it makes sense that this only a ceremonial script. because making morecomplicated sentences would get messy quicly. And from all the ripples in front of the fish, I can't tell which ones are supposed to be read in whick order.

just wrote my first sentence and its an extremely simple sentence but its already so pretty tsevhu is just beautiful

Very cool and very pretty! Really wish to get more into it however i don't think i'm smart enough to understand some things given in the dictionary - stuff makes my head spin, lol. Kinda hope you'll make more videos covering this it's very interesting <3

I recently wrote a song for my girlfriend, and I had the idea of transcribing it into tsevhu so I can “show” the song to her before actually performing it

Has anyone read the Uplift series where they uplifted Dolphins to full sapience? I think their writing would be like this. It's so beautiful. I could see poems written on quilts of deep blue backgrounds with orange koi and white embroidered Koiwriting on top.

To make a koiwrit, does it have to be an actual s-v-o sentence or can it be a phrase or list? How can lists be incorporated? Also, for the writing the ripples, could there a be a stroke order to make it easier to 'recognize', kinda like how you write 'e' you start with the line then the curve, or 's' starting from the top to bottom, or literally any language that adapts or uses chinese characters.

I have a quick question. I am trying to translate the sentence “the man sits and finds inner happiness.” For “the man sits” I have the man ripple in the center of the koi, and sit at the tail. Where would I put the next part? Right now I have happiness at the oblique spot with the “find” verb and “within” adjective around it. Is that correct, or should I put that part on a small fish? Plz help, thanks

Conlangs are like magic to me, it's insane to me that one person can just... Make a language. Maybe it's less magic and more science once you know more about languages, but to me it still appears like magic! And I can't imagine the knowledge and effort that goes into creating magic...

Hmm. I'm curious why ripples go from inside to out instead of outside to in? When water ripples, don't the first rings (and therefore syllables) stretch outwards, and the latter syllables would be in the center? Is it because it's easier to write in a growing spiral?
@koavhukva6996Ай бұрын
Ya it's easier than having to plan out how big the ripple needs to be before you start writing it. Would be annoying to try and cram in the ripples as you go in
