Secretariat won each of the 3 races in a different way, all spectacular. Imagine if he hadn't been blocked in at the start of the first two races - he might have set 2 more unbeatable world records like the Belmont.

People that have never worked at a track, or spent time at one, don't realize that yes it is organized chaos, but it is organized. There are rules when you are on a horse on the track. Horses going the wrong way, clockwise, stay near the outside rail. The slower you are the closer to the rail you should be. Horses that are walking are closer to the rail than horses that are jogging. The horses going the right way, counter-clockwise, have a path of travel that also depends on their speed. The horses that are doing morning workouts, going relatively fast, are closest to the inside rail. Then depending on your speed the slower you are going the further from the inside rail you should be. Also, you don't run up behind someone else or cut anyone off, either of those could get someone seriously hurt, or worse. That is the organization. You can bend those rules slightly but not much.

Yes, I have seen him on TV . I raised Appies for 33 years.. so I aways enjoyed seeing him. My questions, would be, where did he come from, how old is he now, is he retired, and is he a pure bred ??? Thanks, for sharing 🎉❤❤🐴
