It's legal there but you can't in public. It will have to be on private property.

Just came back from San Pedro 2 weeks ago. Had a great time. The people are friendly and some of the best fresh seafood I ever had.

Do you know how Belize is dealing with the sargassum problem? How many months of the year does it hit? Seems like that would be a killer fór the economy if they can find an answer.

I thought about that as well, I know there's a company in Africa that is repurposing it for a product. It's coming in by the tons, I'm curious as well what they're doing with it.

@@TravelWithMuhamed It's hard to find information on it. What scares me is it sounds like something that is going to keep getting worse. Climate warming is not going away. They could come up with other methods of fertilizing crops that doesn't fertilize the sargassum, that would help. IDK. We'll see what happens!

❤❤❤ Another great Belize video 🇧🇿 🏝 Fyi- sugar, their sugar is cane sugar (also not processed) which also makes for a better juice 24:43 Most American or foreign expats who choose the mainland actually don't live near Belize city but rather in Placencia, Stann Creek, Cayo District maybe a few in Hopkins. But Placencia gets alot of expats. Interviews with locals warms my heart! Ty for sharing!

Thank you!! I need to get use to some real sugar, cane sugar! I've heard of a few of those areas but not all. Next time I come I'll have to visit them. I enjoy talking to the locals. That's one thing I love since I don't speak Spanish yet is that Belize is English speaking!

go to san pedro where , both the red and blue political parties... use municipal garbage as land fill and road bedding and then,,,, cover it with very badly built concrete road covering....alll in a lower than sea water elevation...the chemical pollution that will be released into the marine environment...for the next 200.000 years....not to mention the gaseous release that will permeate/percolate/precipitate to the surface ,,,where the people/children will breath it all in. show that to the world...

We're not the "stay in the tourist area" type. We love being amongst the natives & learning about the area & the people.
