This is a nice demonstration of the differences between the sounds of the two amplifiers, but I would also like to compare vocals, such as Karen Carpenter, between the two.

Hi, do you think Luxman is a good match for them? Have you tried out other "sonic signatures"? Eg, european (philips, grundig, braun, revox), american (fisher, marantz, dynaco), british (nad, quad)

The song should be taken out of the video, sounds so ridiculous and dated.

The Deportation of the Acadians came about as a result of Acadians not signing an oath of alliegance to the British who had a legitimate claim through the Treaty of Utrecht of 1715; it was the same with the Micmac who were mercenaries for the French and who also broke a Treaty with the English and who used to sell English scalps to the French at Louisbourg for 10 livres apiece. The military action that greeted Cornwallis and the settlers was known as Father LaLoutres War. It was the third governor after Cornwallis who eventually expelled the Acadians who did conduct a vicious guerrella war against the English. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation creates our revisionist history. An American Dramatist/Propagandist, H.W. Longfellow, who created the weepy tale of Evangaline that passes for our history which for the most part is untold or grotesquely distorted.

Any town that prospers during war and declines during peace-time is a town built on death. Sounds like bad karma for that town!! But I'm sure it's a friendly place now, it's Canada!!!

Was playing in the Nova Scotia Tattoo around about then. Fun times! Would do a set at the Tattoo, know how much time before we went back on again, so we'd run across the street to the Split Crow for a triple margarita. We'd be juiced by the end of the night by the time the tattoo was over. Couldn't do that now at my age.

I wish you had adjusted the Akai frequencies before you started recording. And comparing an integrated Akai amp to the Sansui separates seems a bit one sided based on the amount of electronics and probably the cost of each. But, thank you for the video, it was very enjoyable.

This video is between 1990-95. I'd say it's between 90-93 because that is the Moosehead Grand Prix if I'm not mistaken. The vehicles also show a lot of early 1990s models which I'm familiar with such as the Chevy Lumina that went from 1990 for about a decade. Good old video though. Pretty cool to see stuff I remember.
@hamiltonontkeithАй бұрын
At the 9:30 mark, in this video, the white building, on the corner of Queen & Spring Garden was 1989. 1990 is when they started demolition, to rip it down. You are right about everything else. Thanks
@THE_45th_PARALLELАй бұрын
@@hamiltonontkeith The footage is an amalgamation of a few years. The car is a Chevy Lumina, not released until 1990. I'd say that the video is covering a time span of a couple of years at the least. Very cool video though, with lots of memories :)
