as much as normal legal justice is flawed,gets things wrong or gets corrupted sometimes...it is still by miles better choice then vigilante justice done by random people...cuzz in legal system actual profesional training,countless rules and regulations and superiors weeds out majority of that stuff...and in vigilante justice cases like shown in this movie you have absolutely nothing to weed out all of that stuff...all you have is just first impression of situation...egos...little to no skills,and extremly easily manipulated process by anyone who wants to manipulate the process in convicting or freeing the guy...

'Prisoners', with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal, is a far superior movie that also deals with child abduction and the torture of the supposed kidnapper by the parents…and that plot actually makes sense!

So terrible - there is no crime worse than your child being taken, tortured, abused, and killed. But to torture the wrong person. I don’t know what I would do in such a case. If I was the one who had been in charge of my child and lost my child, I don’t know what I would do.
