1. How does one FIND a community? 2. Can you please list the most important and then the first 10 or 100 SKILLS one should be working on? 3. What books can I buy to keep in my library that will be necessary in weird times? 4. How much food should I aim to have-bare minimum per adult/teen person- in getting started? 5. How should I store water? 6. How can I collect and filter water if I don’t have a Berkey or can’t afford one? 7. What about toiletries and waste management? How do you handle waste management if utilities are down? That’s a short start. I HAVE MANY MORE!!!

@amy3458

@@Cure_E_OsityHi there. It’s the EXTRACTED ESSENTIAL OIL of sassafras that has been banned as a food flavoring. The essential oil contains safrole, which can be poisonous when ingested in large doses and carcinogenic and potentially harmful to the liver. Its danger, though, is LESS than that of alcohol consumption. Sassafras is actually a highly medicinal herb and has been used profusely in ancient AND modern herbalism. 👍🏼
@Timberwizardsurvival
@Timberwizardsurvival Ай бұрын
@@Cure_E_Osity oh, ok. In large quantities, almost anything is toxic. However, that was an old study, where they gave rats large quantities of the concentrated oil. More recent studies have been unable to replicate those results. Also, the ability to harvest and consume enough sassafras to cause you any harm would be difficult. I’ve been drinking sassafras tea for decades, without ill effect. Thank you for watching!

I keep enough dry yarrow to stop the flow from a good sized cut on my work bench. I push the cut into a pile of yarrow powder and hold it there for a few seconds- no more bleeding, and a clump of yarrow will stick to you and keep debris out. Stays on you better than a band-aid in my experience!

The medicinal qualities of Lactuca serriola - L. are as follows according to Plants for a Future. The whole plant is rich in a milky sap that flows freely from any wounds. This hardens and dries when in contact with the air[4]. The sap contains 'lactucarium', which is used in medicine for its anodyne, antispasmodic, digestive, diuretic, hypnotic, narcotic and sedative properties[9, 21, 46, 165, 192, 213, 238]. Lactucarium has the effects of a feeble opium, but without its tendency to cause digestive upsets[4], nor is it addictive[7]. It is taken internally in the treatment of insomnia, anxiety, neuroses, hyperactivity in children, dry coughs, whooping cough, rheumatic pain etc[238]. Concentrations of lactucarium are low in young plants and most concentrated when the plant comes into flower[238]. It is collected commercially by cutting the heads of the plants and scraping the juice into china vessels several times a day until the plant is exhausted[4]. This species does not contain as much lactucarium as L. virosa[4]. An infusion of the fresh or dried flowering plant can also be used[9]. The plant should be used with caution, and never without the supervision of a skilled practitioner. Even normal doses can cause drowsiness whilst excess causes restlessness[238] and overdoses can cause death through cardiac paralysis[7, 9]. The fixed oil from the seeds is said to possess antipyretic and hypnotic properties[240]. A homeopathic remedy is made from the plant[9]. It is used in the treatment of chronic catarrh, coughs, swollen liver, flatulence and ailments of the urinary tract[9]. Edible uses. Young leaves - raw or cooked[13, 55, 62]. A bitter flavour[85]. The young tender leaves are mild and make an excellent salad[183, 217], but the whole plant becomes bitter as it gets older, especially when coming into flower[K]. As a potherb it needs very little cooking[183]. Large quantities can cause digestive upsets[62]. Young shoots - cooked. Used as an asparagus substitute[13]. An edible oil is obtained from the seed[46, 61, 105]. The oil must be refined before it is edible[114]. A pleasant flavour[114, 183].

What I do that helps is instead of going strain at your string try a counter clock wise rotation with your shoulder and as it come down put your three finger under the arrow, because of the rotation it almost forces you to use back tension. I might not be explaining this clearly I’m sorry it’s hard to describe h what I mean by that, what also helps me is making sure my feet are basically 90°angle from my target, and when I get to what I believe is my full draw before I even look at my target or release I turn my body left drastically and if my draw changes and my bones aren’t locked in I know I have to redraw. I do t do it every time just when I’m not sure. Hope this helps

Diamond fly pitch, otherwise known as the plow point. Has to be my favorite setup given its speed of set up. This is a must know for anyone who relies on tarps for shelter. A minor inconvenience unless it's raining cats and dogs.
