I love Turkish dances. And Romani dances are my favorites. So free and expressive. No choreography, just do your stuff. So of course I took classes in Turkish belly dancing that is infused with Romani elements. Very different from Romani dances elsewhere. Much more sensual. Loved it. ❤️

This is probably the most famous exhibition dance from Tanec. Choreographed in 1953 and based on the dance movements of the Shope people living in Eastern Macedonia and Western Bulgaria, it was introduced in the US in the early 1970's by Atanas Koloravski.

The moonlight is so bright over the path and all the way to me that my sweetheart is afraid he'll be seen coming to visit me. If I knew another path, I would plant basil and roses so he could follow the beautiful fragrances to find me more easily.

We still do it. We just do other Kopanicas more. Now we will need to work Lamba Lamba back into our Kopanica rotation since Michael Ginsburg is teaching it for 4 weeks.
