Sam, you are all about enacting laws to push people to drive/buy EV's. EV's are not as reliable as this point as gas vehicles. Read Consumer Reports their April edition every single year is their car guide issue. EV's are more of a hassle. If you live in most cities around the world charging stations are not all over the place. They take longer to charge, try that on a long trip, initial cost is more than a gas car. Will they become cheaper when new? The jury is still out on that one. They depreciate way more faster than do gas cars, they lose big time range in cold weather, not every house can have a charger available. My condo doesn't have any chargers to use. Range of 300 miles is a hassle. My V6 AWD SUV gets 550 miles on a tank on the highway, and about 420 or so on a tank around town. It has a 21.5 gallon tank to it. EV's have a very long way to go. If you don't believe me just pick up and read a Consumer Reports.😊

Thailand here, Sam! Production in 2025? In Thailand, we no longer believe whatever Toyota says about making EVs. Akio has bragged about the hydrogen, H2O, solid state for years. What we've seen so far are "concept cars". Earlier this year Toyota held a big event in a race track in NE Thailand, showcasing their BEV, PHEV, FCEV trucks. Lots of fanfare. Then in the recent Bangkok Intl Motorshow, they are back to selling boring HEVs and ICE trucks. Zeekr, BYD, Deepal, XPeng, Neta, Chery completely stole the limelight. The Chinese never makes promise or brags about the techs until their production lines are ready. Everything Chinese means tangible and realizable. There is now a saying in Thailand that goes "Toyota no longer sells cars but news!" Toyota has become a news agency. 😂😂😂

When do we get a pro-consumer advocate on trade? It’s always the special interests that get favored. In this case, it is a monopolistic union. Between the UAW and the teacher’s unions is why we can’t have nice things.

FSD is impressive but not mature enough. Gets wrong speed limits often like 65mph on highway exits, but let me set the speed at 45mph in a what it thought was a 20mph on what was actually 40mph, but turn a corner to a 25mph and it keeps the 45mph. Acceleration and deceleration was inconsistent, yes a bit too fast at times and other times it gradually coast to a slower limit. On rural stop signs it stops well before the stop sign and creeps out too slow and even seems to stall there and needs me to hit the throttle. Liked that it passed cars on the highway and pulled back in when cars behind pushed me. Pulled over and stopped with a truck approached on a narrow road - nice. Would be nice to order summons, and park feature as separate options.

This 2035 ban is a bit misleading and doesnt get reported properly. By 2030 manufacturers will be required to have 80% of their car sales as EVs. There must be a tipping point where its no longer viable to manufacture ICE cars if a high % of your sales have to be EVs so I think you will see some manufacturers stop making ICE cars by 2030 or earlier.

If you want the sale of EV’s to go up bring the price down dramatically release the battery that gives the thousand kilometers or 600+ miles those two factors alone for any manufacturer will increase the sale of EV dramatically 2:58

Second hand EV sales up 70% in the UK this year. One website I look at often used to have around 20 Teslas for sale at any one time. On average they now have around 70. Its not that they dont sell. I bookmark a few of the cars, check in a day or two and usually gone. They are flying out the door. After all, a 2020 Model 3 for 19 grand = £280 per month on PCP is very affordable for lots of people and what a car you get for that money.

Indeed, the first thing that needs to happen is to tell people not to believe their eyes and ears. And punish media outlets that point out the issues with electric cars. We've seen the shots of EVs in bitter cold weather. We have been reading about the extreme increases in insurance costs. There has been lots of reporting on how even a minor accident can result in a $70,000 Tesla being written off. There is still no comprehensive plan for battery disposal and recycling. And face it, people are just not buying. The chi-chi early adopters have all bought their EV's and -- surprise surprise -- 20% of them have gone back to gas. A large majority of EV owners have a gas car as well. EVs are a niche market. End of story.

ICE vehicles should have been taxed out of existence in the 1990s. Progress in battery technology could have happened a long time ago if the auto industry had been given the right incentives. They weren't, so nothing happened. The world is dawdling. Governments are pathetic, spineless and impotent.

Hey there, I have been trading for about a few months now and just about every trade slaps me in my face. Nearly impossible for me to catch more than a few points . I try to do top down analysis and MTF analysis, but it doesn't work for me . I say to myself, clearly I'm in the 90% that lose money, so I open a demo account, do my analysis, then take the opposite of what I would normally take(I know, it sounds stupid but I was desperate) and get the same result. I'm starting to feel hopeless, any advice for a struggling trader?

The biggest anti EV lobby is the pro EV lobby. I say this because EV's are being forced upon the public with the threat of banning petrol cars in 2030 - 2035 or whenever by the pro EV groups. If they just let EV's do their thing organically then there would be far less backlash.

"Your car is worse for the environment than my diesel truck." - So you're an ecoterrorist? "I hate Elon Musk." - Do I look like Elon Musk to you? "I hate Tesla." - Ok, that's your opinion, but it doesn't explain why you keyed my car! "You're stealing electricity!" - It's a complimentary charger, it's free to use! "Your is going to catch on fire and hurt someone!" - I'd be more worried about your car that literally burns a highly flammable liquid for energy. These are just some excuses I've heard people use.

Agreed. News is just so full of propaganda and misinformation. People don’t do their own research to make an informed decision. The only reason EV used prices are dropping is because of the news reports about them dropping. We underestimate the impact that the media has.

BEV pickup trucks don't seem to have popularity in the North American market thus far. Consumers seem to want powerful engines, towing capability, and off-road capability. I wonder if Australian consumers would be any different with their utes. But again, the new restrictions on types of vehicles that can be sold in Australia would be deciding what models will be available for Australian consumers going forward. Seeing the popularity in the US for 25 year old JDM Kei-trucks imported from Japan (that are no longer subjected to the "Chicken Tax"), I would think something like a "Hilux Champ" intended for markets like Thailand, Brazil, Philippines, Mexico, etc would be far more suited and affordable for a basic work/farm truck compared to an expensive BEV pickup truck alternative.

Electric motors may be more efficient, but I can carry 100 miles of range in a 5 gallon petrol can that weighs about 35 pounds. 35 pounds of batteries will give you how much range? 10 miles? And my 5 gallons will give me the same range weather it is 100F or -40 degrees outside. It will give me the same range today as it will 3 years f4om now when mod3l 3 batteries are 65% capacity. Etc etc
