EVH would never play anything this boring. Sounds more like Joe Satriani's tone. Could be Steve Stevens, I suppose. Oversaturated. Boring, big orgasm, and then boring again. Eddie would play all sorts of rhythms, would never play single notes like that.

I think maybe this is an "unknown's" cover. He or she used Eddie Van Halen's name and "Top Gun" so that this upload would appear in various searches. The performance is okay, and this person got at least 140 people to comment on their playing, so I guess it's mission was accomplished.

I have been to see Eddie Van Halen LIVE, And he did play the Top Gun Anthem, and it sounded something like this but BETTER than than this, but the sliding and vibrating on the guitar are to van halens standards

Joe satriani did make this song ... it was Steve stevens.. look on the net and wiki... After that did joe a cover of it.... The real song is made by a pianist and a guitarist.... Stevens steve.. take a look on top gun anthem video... you will see

Eddie Van Halen!??!!??? Yeah right.! The palyback sounds like its made on a commodore 64. The guitar isn`t that bad...but Its too loud. Guessing its some teenager learning to play gutiar, who made this... But I do wonder when Eddie Van Halen`s lawyers are gonna jump on this... for grinding his name in the dirt:-)

that so sucked! no way that was evh, cause eddie don't suck. even when eddie is sucking, it doesn't suck. one of this guy's friends probably told him that he sounds like eddie on the gtr ...."hey man you're getting pretty good, kinda sounds like evh" so now he's trying to see how many people actually think he plays like evh. well, sorry dude, not even close. i sound more like evh than you do, and i suck! but hey, hang in there, keep practicing (as will i) and maybe one day we won't suck so bad
