According to GM you are supposed to replace the CRANK Bolt everytime you do this repair
@ClockFixer
@ClockFixer 4 ай бұрын
Wouldn't it have been easier to remove the Crank Bolt if you had left the belt on to give the pulley resistance?

Thank you for this! At the 9:00 mark, you talk about how the transmission needs to be aligned exactly in the manner shown. Most of the other videos on this topic do not show this in detail.

2010 Equinox, oil leak, I think oil around pulley area. I see not the case. It’s timing chain cover? Great video by the way. God bless thank you.
@sixtauto
@sixtauto 6 ай бұрын
If the oil is only around the pulley area then it's more than likely the crank seal that's in the timing cover. I changed the seal in the video starting at about the 8min mark. It will be a little bit of a different removal process if the timing cover is not removed first. Thank you for the comment and watching it!

Subcribed! Good job man, and keep the Joy of Wrenching! Only tips I would give from someone a few more videos in is maybe invest in external microphone to pick up your valuable tips a little more and I really like the rechargeable lights with magnetic bases to put lots of light in those dark areas so it shows a little more clear on film. Even with those little things, you're doing great!

He likely took it too some backyard mechanic who “fixed” a misfiring issue or a low oil pressure issue by raising the idle with the duck tape and quarter trick. He put it in there so it would idle higher and cover up the misfire/low oil pressure. When the idle is higher it’s harder to hear the misfire and it raises the oil pressure the higher the rpm goes

Will the A/C run properly intermittently if the actuator is going bad? Have hot air drivers side, cool on passenger side... but then all of a sudden it works properly??
@Thomas6332
@Thomas6332 2 жыл бұрын
I had this problem, so after watching these kinds of videos, I changed my actuator. May I suggest that you try to press the defrost button and power button at the same time first. Hold them down for several seconds. This just might reset the electronics and save you the trouble.

@Thomas6332
@Thomas6332 2 жыл бұрын
@@All-about-everything I'm sorry that I haven't seen this earlier. There is a power button just under the fan insignia to right of the defrost button. It goes defrost, rear window, auto, power button. Press them with the car running and hold them down until the ambient lighting goes through a couple cycles of changing colors. Anyway that is what I did and the air actuator started to work again.

@Thomas6332
@Thomas6332 Жыл бұрын
@@Dstrbrdgrnd It's a very simple try. Just press these buttons at the same time and wait for several seconds. I watched the ambient lighting go through all the colors, for example. Then my problem was resolved. It costs nothing to try. Good luck.
