My wife and I led an Amish couple to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately after they got saved and left the Amish, they joined the Mennonites. When talking with them later about eternal security. He would say my sheep hear my voice and they "follow me". His point was that if you don't follow you don't have eternal life or you lost it. 27:56

I put my trust and faith in the FINISHED work that Jesus did on the cross. He paid the debt that my sin put me under, and I have accepted free gift He offers to all who believe. I liken it to an analogy I once heard. Suppose you've been called into court, and the penalty for the offense you are on trial for is so great, there is no way you out. Your freedom hangs in the balance and it hinges on your ability to pay the debt. You have no way of paying it, and you are in danger of prison. But imagine that the judge, stands up, comes down from the bench, reaches into his wallet, pulls out the amount owed, and pays that debt for you, ensuring your freedom. That's what Jesus did for you and me. But it is up to us to accept His free gift of salvation.

What is amazing is that the gospels contradict each other , have no primary voices /1st hand accounts and were written up to 200 years after the alleged crucifixion. Religitardation is sad

Can a believer commit the unpardonable sin?

Where is the filthy rags test detailed in the Bible? How many works (filthy rags) must I do before salvation to gain it or after to keep it? Requiring works before or after for salvation negates the "free" part in salvation being a free gift. It also makes people doubt their salvation when the sow to the flesh rather than the spirit. And that's something we all do/did even the apostle Paul. Why would the Bible warn saved people against it if it is not possible for saved people to go off track? Obviously, we aren't to stay there, but we can't lose our salvation. If we are saved, we are always saved. Otherwise, what were we saved from--our next sin? For those relying on their own actions to keep them saved, I will gladly follow you around for a day and point out your sin for you. And, what would I discover if I were allowed access to your thoughts? God's standard is always perfection. We should strive to walk as Jesus did. But we should acknowledge we have a dual nature until he comes back or calls us home.

Does he text give enough clarity to affirm a parallel between a sin and his sickness? Seems like reading into the text because, generally, Jesus tells people to repent or to sin no more-- not sure that's unique to this man's circumstance. Jesus is concerned with the SPIRITUAL health of these people and used physical healings as a means to get to the root of the person. "Something worse" seems to be connected to that spiritual health, thus referring to "the worst possibility", not so much a sickness.

2000 years of Christianity and people are constantly coming up with "new" understandings of the Gospel. Some believe this and other believe in Torah, but it's all new "Christian" movements. Interpretations you will not find in the early church. I guess all these people are having their intellectual "aha" moment. It's really simple. If your faith doesn't include repenting of your sin, you have no faith. True faith is the only condition for God's grace. See Ephesians 2:8-9. John 10:27 King James Version 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Addendum: Miles Coverdale born in 1488 “wrote this statement which has enabled many to correctly understand the Scriptures. It reads: it shall greatly help you to understand scriptures if they’ll mark not only what is spoken, or written, but of whom, and to whom, with what words, at what time. Where, to what intent, with what circumstances, considering what go with before, and what follow with after.“ ‘The Bible is a progressively revealed book’. Paul is our (gentiles, which now includes Israel at this juncture) apostle in the age of God’s grace. We need to leave the ‘milk’ of the Jewish gospel of the Kingdom on earth to Paul’s 12 (possibly 13) epistles which contains our gospel now! Our flesh will still sin but by faith in the gospel in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Ephesians 2:8-10 etc God through His Son declares us without sin as we are imputed with God’s righteousness through our faith in His Son’s work. 🙏🏼✝️✔️

JClifts, yes it is incorrect to apologize for our bodily sinning. Christ paid the world’s sin debt ONCE. When God looks at me as I am IN Christ & have His imputed righteous by faith, He sees a sinless spirit. Apologies by our flesh to someone we’ve offended would be a great release of guilt. It would even open an avenue to explain THE gospel of the graciousness of GOD. All of Romans 3, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Ephesians 2:8&9. Go in peace in God’s eternal saving grace 🙏🏼✝️

I agree with you but I really don’t get the analogy of osmosis? I don’t mean to be pedantic and I sort of think I get what you are saying, however, Osmosis is the net movement of water from high concentration to low concentration through a permeable membrane??? How does that equate to success? Are you saying that a high level of success will automatically move to a lower level of success??? Regardless, most people don’t understand the definition of osmosis anyway, it is a scientific term that has a specific meaning and I don’t feel you have used it in the correct context. I know I may be being a bit picky, but to be understood by the lay person, you need to use every day terminology. Just a thought to consider. Blessings in the gospel.

False Reposne Cliche #4: Ask for forgiveness? What does repent mean then? And from the Bible, we have: Acts 2: 37 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what are we to do?” 38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” 40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on urging them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” 41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. 42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. This to me is the essence of asking for forgiveness.

Repentance is part of the equation. So many false conversions happen because people have a pseudo faith without repentance. Belief in Jesus should lead to a transformed life. If it doesn’t, we must examine our hearts and our faith.
