This version is stripped way down compared to the one I boarded, to increase payload obviously.

I noticed a "beat" from the engines, caused I am told by the engine RPM's being slightly different. Same conversation, and I think it was a conversation with a co-worker, had it the the German multi-engine planes were notorious for that, but that Allied multi-engine set ups synchronized engine by cross-wiring the ignitions, the rotation of one engine timing the firing of other engine's spark-plugs. Seems reasonable to me.

I saw a prototype intermeshing blade helicopter crash in the early 1950's in Moorestown NJ killing one of the two test pilots who bailed out too low. The synchronizing gear failed and the blades contacted. I believe it was a Kaman HOK-1.

You better take a shower and put some of that smelly stuff on when you are flying the B-25 due to the fact you'll almost be elbow to elbow with the Co-Pilot. I never realized that the B-25 has such a tight cockpit. Almost like two very narrow cockpits that were seamed together. It does make it nice though, because all the controls are right at your fingertips and easily within reach. It also keeps the Pilot/Co-Pilot more along the centerline of the aircraft which probably made the aircraft feel like you were wearing it rather than flying it, especially in a turn or roll. The famed B-25 gun ships towards the end of the war that packed more firepower (including some models with a 75mm cannon in the nose along with six forward firing 50 caliber machine guns) than just about anything flying around the world during that time period were an absolute force to be reckoned with. These were also considered fast compared to other medium bombers of WWII. It's definitely an elegant looking plane looking similar to a P-38 in the front profile. These pilots are lucky men to be able to fly such a historical aircraft in the modern age. Hopefully restoration organizations and museums of flight will keep these aircraft operating for many years into the future so that our future generations can see, smell, and hear these warbirds as they were intended to be seen, in flight.

If I bought this, the first thing I'd do is blend the front window to match the contour of the nose. Right now, it looks like a snot bubble.
