awesome playthrough!! sounds soo nice hearing the bass doubled, and agree with the other comment abt the bass on the solo section being difficult. don't play bass myself, but i do drums / guitar so i could appreciate the rhythmic complexity. wp!

My Forbidden Lover is one of those tracks which made me actively seek out a bass cover. You've really personified the groove. ❤️🎶

Just a quick something I wrote in an 80s style so I could do some Pino Palladino style lines. Full video has 2 other tracks in it: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hsVmasahspOdf4U.htmlsi=z869fnQThz5kRAEh

These funky times when the bass was the heart of the songs. I was a frustrated bassist and the bass is the instrument that i fix my attention on.

I can hear the difference as you describe EXCEPT for my tastes the TI sounds more musical. I much prefer the sound of the TI in your examples. They are bright out of the box and take a few weeks to settle down and then once broken in they hold that tone for years and years.

Bit late to this video, but it was great. I love the 90s stuff he did, especially with the NPG. Sonny T is amazing.

Jazz flats are quite bright when new - that rolls off after a month or so. They are definitely mid forward and a little lacking in bass fundamental, but you can counter that to an extent with EQ. You might also like to try Dunlop stainless steel flatwounds which are somewhere between the EB Group 5s and Jazz Flats in both tension and tone. I have also had great results on fretless with Thomastik Jazz Roundwound strings and La Bella black nylon tapewounds. Very different sounds as you might expect, but characterful and comfortable to play.

Sexy mf is my favorite of this video. Excellent chops mate. I envy you. It sounded you play that riff on that song. That good. 🙏🏻 I especially bought a fender 5 string p bass for riffs like this on that E string. I have difficulty playing with two fingers so close to the pickups where I put my thumb. I have my 5 string bass for a month now and it is really brutally cool. Especially that low B and C. So now I can try to play this riff also. Wish me luck. 😁😁😁 Bytheway all my basses have flats. 3 fenders so far and a cheap acoustic.
