Absolutely no need to be on and off the step on a street like that. These two are half asleep. The shaker should be IN FRONT of the truck. If you don’t know what that means you’re not a trash man.

i remember a day when garbage men, who were paid to haul the garbage away, used to haul it all away. now they just empty cans and to hell with what falls on the street. fees go up, service goes down. i have to call every couple months and remind them that i am paying to have garbage hauled away.

How much of that glass actually gets recovered after being pulverized?, I know the MRFs have glass screens but watching how a few of these private haulers in Hull operate regularly it doesn't seem like much, if any of what they're picking up is even going to the recycling MRF at this point, especially when people repeatedly get videos of them going down the road picking up all the recycling and the trash in the same truck

dumping the bins into the rear loading trucks seems to me like a really stupidly slow system.. takes the truck several minutes and cycles to get the bin empty when a top loader could lift dump and move on to te next bin in a fraction of the time... add up all the bins on a route and its probably an hour or 2 of wages and fuel saved.

The smaller trucks may do a better job with the smaller dumpsters, however you have to take into account how many smaller trucks would be needed to even try to keep up a bit with this truck By the looks of it I would hazard a guess that this one takes about twice the capacity.

Inefficient and unsafe. First of all, the driver should NEVER be getting outta the truck. The garbage trucks in Detroit are front loading and takes the driver less than 30 seconds and doesn't make a mess
