i just inherited an entire lot of this brand, blower hand trimmer and the wt3100 trimer you have. I have to replace the fuel lines but I'm a weee lost on which port the fuel line is on the carb and the starter line for the starter bubble fuel?
@QuaabQueb
@QuaabQueb Күн бұрын
@@jmarsh9967 There are some better videos that show how to identify the fuel pickup and return. Basically the primer bulb sucks fuel in to the lower part of the carburetor through the metering body. The pickup is always on the side where the small filter screen in the carburetor body is located. The port on the metering body (where the diaphragm is, will be the return.)

Loosen that handle bolt halfway and hit it with a rubber mallet. Easy. Those handle nuts are manufactured like that purposefully: the older iteration that was solid brass caused issues. Installers would overtighten them and crush the inner shaft, damaging the light in the process. Imagine how much damage one overzealous PD installer could do in a day.

@QuaabQueb, awesome video dude. My buddy has a similar unit (Hayward Heatmaster) He didn't properly store it during the winter and the cpvc split. Does the whole coil have to be replaced? Worth saving?
@QuaabQueb
@QuaabQueb 11 күн бұрын
@@justinhussey2376 Probably not. I would try the easiest and cheapest thing first. Try and sand down the split. Get a section of 2" pvc pipe, cut a slot on and then warm it with the heat gun to open it up, you are making a sort of "patch" you can slide over the split pipe and glue it on with pvc primer and cement. It may hold for a year or two. You can try and find a donor unit on marketplace. People often give them away for free when they crap out. Keep in mind the titanium heat condenser coil is running through the cpvc coil. You will need an hvac technician to come pull a vacuum on the unit, disconnect the coil, install the new one and recharge. That service call may be worth more than the cost of the unit unless you know a guy in the field

Great video! I learned a lot about how the primer works. Is there not a low speed jet and a high-speed jet in these type carburetors. I have thoroughly cleaned my carburetor but it will only run with my hand over the air inlet. Like maybe a vacuum leak behind the carburetor but it's got a decent ring gasket on the tube. Runs great on starting fluid. Any thoughts? Thank you.

@@Pawshhhhh If it's setting the breaker then something is shorting. I would recommend using a clamp style meter to monitor the current and see if and where it's rising. @@Pawshhhhh You would need a clamp style multimeter that you can clamp on the wires. If it's setting the breaker as soon as the compressor kicks on then it could be a seized compressor. It's possible it could also be a defective breaker

Thanks for the video it was very informative. My question is I would like to run my Sum 4 with a variable speed water pump, but the water pressure switch is triggering a “low flow” error and won’t engage the heat. I’m thinking of replacing it by a digital programmable water pressure switch which would allow me to program a pressure range for it to close and engage the heat. Obviously it can’t be too low ‘cause I don’t it to overheat, but what do you think? Or do you have any suggestions?

What are the unions called (link possibly?)that are going into the multivalve filter head??? Thank you
@QuaabQueb
@QuaabQueb Ай бұрын
The Hayward sand filter dial-valve does not have a union kit. You have to buy your own. The threaded portion on the dial-valve is 1.5" I have purchased 1.5" female-to-female slip unions. I also purchased three 1.5" male threaded stubs (basically a short section of pvc pipe with a male thread) to screw in to the valve head, then cut off the excess and glued in to the female slip of the union. The other end of the union gets glued in to PVC pipe. I did this to eliminate as many connections as possible, and only used glued fittings. No clamps. The pipe going to the pump does not need a union at the filter head because the pump has it's own union. I found a union that already has the male thread on one end, and female slip on the other. I will drop a link below, if you cannot find it at your local hardware or pool store check scamazon, or do what I mentioned above. Male thread w/ female slip: aquabead.com/miscellaneous-plumbing/15-inch-union-male-thread-female-slip Female-to-female slip: www.poolandhottubdepot.com/1-5-slip-x-slip-complete-union/ Threaded nipple: www.poolsuppliescanada.ca/nipple-pvc-1-1-2-x-6-male-threaded-mipt-x-1-1-2-male-threaded-mipt.html
