Such a smart overview of our relationship with AI art. Ultimately it is a very skilled copyist and a tool. The sky is not falling. Mr Price has a very sensible attitude about it. I’m presently working on a client project - he first hired AI artists who delivered boring content. But now he’s using my human made content. AI can’t think. It just copies. It is simply a tool that requires an artist’s mind. AI is only a threat to those who don’t put thought into their work.

So if you didn't make as much progress as William then let me tell you this : You are not a failure and you might not be less talented than him. He simply has the best conditions to learn blender and executed well and passionated so you gotta respect him for that. Yes his stuff is pretty inspiring to me but: He is young and has a lot of time compared to a 25 year old that needs to cook his own food, needs to work etc. He already had access to Final Cut and other programs which cost hundreds of dollars - not even to mention the iPhone or a good computer to run blender. So not every kid at that age has access to so much money. He speaks good english what means he has access to good education at a young age what makes it easier for him to learn new stuff. He said his Dad downloaded Blender for him so I guess he has supporting parents. Not every kid has supporting parents that care. Everybody learns Blender under different circumstances. Don't let the success of others diminish your value and self worth.

There’s a ton of great feedback junior, aspiring, and veteran artists alike need to hear in this interview. The part that stood out for me was seeking mentorship and understanding one’s strengths when working on a team. An experienced master visionary can quickly sharpen the story point of a piece in many ways and a lot of the time it’s through thoughtful composition and placement of key physical elements as well as light.

I'd recommend watching at least part of FZD's "What AI Can't Do" video. There's a ton of stuff AI will take over but there's also a good deal it simply isn't going to work for. Entertainment design will evolve just as it did with the introduction of Photoshop etc

Yeesh. So basically not art. In terms of exploitation/diversity of subjects, & in terms of the process either, just make images as fast as possible. It’s a conveyer-belt. The animation industry & especially video games already had a bad reputation, but now with corporate greed getting even worse, AI is gonna make the already few full time positions with workers-benefits, shrink up even more than what they were already.
@kcsnipes2 ай бұрын
in response to the preview - there are already humans that make art faster and better than other humans who love art tho ? but i guess that's also tough to stomach ?

It's a bit weird to hear such incredibly advanced Blender users struggle with Geometry nodes. It's encouraging and at the same time the opposite. I'm coming from 2D corporate graphic design and been trying to get more and more into motion and Blender. That alone in itself is a crazy steep learning curve. But Geometry Nodes besides scattering just isn't getting processed by my brain. I understand the process and concepts while watching someone do the BASIC tutorials but there's no way I could pull that stuff off on my own.

As i do often tend to disagree with you on political topics, this time you have nailed my pov 100%. Resistance is futile, just embrace the new technology and let's try to elevate our skillsets by the use of AI. The industry will change - that is inevidable, nonetheless i think it will bring more opportunities and become more creative in the end.

People forget AI still need existing art to generate its thing. If people stop making new art, eventually AI will start sampling its own thing and gets 'bland' pretty quickly.

Hate to see it go Andrew. This channel really stood for what it is "for serious artists". It wasnt gimmicky and flashy. Its very grounded and the questions you gave were always in reflection to the reality not only as a professional but as a realist, surviving and honing your craft at the same time. Id like to believe theres a silver lining somewhere 😊. Goodluck for the other channels!

I saw a video about generating 100 ebooks to sell it on different plattforms. I think we will soon have a problem with too much of all. Saturation in all corners, even if you want support other creative human beings, it is hard to find out if there is one behind.. What we maybe need is, that ai art and assistance should be marked. I dont pay for things, made by 4 words, trained illegal by real artist input. Sorry, i am human. I like ai but not in every aspect of my life ( even we will be there in few years ).

AI should be resited simply because of the fact that its database is based on stolen content from all other artists who post theirt work on the internet. Their images is used to feed the database for Midjourney and co. and the generated output is used commercially by companies. Thats straight datawashing and is unacceptable. Why wasn't this talked about in the podcast?? Thats is probably the most important topic when it comes to AI generated images!

Having references and inspiration is several galaxies away from pinching someone else's work. This argument in defense of AI is weak sauce even if some future version of AI is able to make art without help or input.

How can I leverage AI to create faster, better work? It's a genuine question because all tutorials I see are about typing text into different generators. I want to have control over what I create. For example I've been trying to feed a sketch to an AI to get better references, but I'm curious to see how others use it.

The ones who have all the money didn't get rich by paying out as much as possible for art and 3D. They have no reason to pay anyone when A.I 3d becomes standard. It doesn't matter what our personal intent might be, with viewing it as a tool or whatever. We wont have any reason to learn 3D any more, outside of personal fulfilment.

I just don't see it, midjourney has been art directing itself, I think it will be so abstracted and made simple that it'll be a chore many companies will just tell the Intern to do. Perhaps like "hey kid can you feed the machine something, anything, everything comes out good", and boom! Something unique.
