Great video! I have a question though, when doing A10 towards Cambs at 7:45 wouldn't it be easier to stay in lane 1 before entering the roundabout and enter into lane 2 which will put us in the correct lane when exiting. Just like the black hyundai i10 on your left did? The satnav said turn-right, maybe that's the reason? But even then, on the roundabout sign Cambs is at 12 O'clock and road markings have CITY on lane 1 as well. Really appreciate if you could comment on that.

Yes it would've been easier at the time when making the video though you have to be in the middle lane because if you've got in the left lane you could only go towards Milton or A14 as that is what it's stipulated on the roadside. Since the video has been made in the last six months, road markings have changed and you now can be in the left laneto go third exit

Hi again, do examiners do different routes at different times of the day? Is someone more likely to get a histon route in the day time as opposed to morning? Or is it just random? Thank you 😊

I have been watching your videos recently! Do you know if the examiners will take learners down near Coldhams lane or Mill road? Im not sure if they still do this so dont know if i need to practice 😅

This roundabout is my bane. Road markings are faded, not easy to work out the lanes in some places

Totally understand and this is why it's done many times on lessons and this video is done. If your new to the roundabout there is a high chance it will be done incorrectly

Hi, when passing cyclists in a cycle lane do i need to indicate that im passing a cyclist and do i need to leave 1.5m space? For example on the gilbert road and histon road cycle lanes

We don't tend to teach signalling around bicycles because your signal could very easily become a misleading. But in some circumstances I would. Obviously if you can leave 1.5 m between you and bike then brilliant. But it's not always possible as you may have to go on the other side of the road to get around bike into oncoming traffic so what we were encouraged is if you need to go closer then slow your car down. What I would say is you should plan to aim to arrive when the road is clear, and you can go on the other side of the road around the bike.

@@shannono7812 there are no timed bus lanes in Cambridge that you would go near on your driving test. Do not touch a bike lane for a bus lane

At 04:30 it should be A14E to Cambridge/City not A14W.

You are travelling west bound from fen ditton to Cambridge and east bound is Milton to fen Ditton

When u enter the roundabout did u give right signal? And then u going left for 3rd exit did u give left signal. I don't understand ur video. Can explain please

With Histon and Milton roundabout it is a controlled roundabout with lanes and traffic lights. If you indicate on a roundabout like this could cause confusion. So we only encourage indication if you are changing lanes. but changing lanes on Histon roundabout you must be very careful as the lanes are marked with the location you want to go to. If you change lanes on certain parts of Histon roundabout you will be unsuccessful the lanes says you can only do what it is asking you to do.

East is the towards Newmarket, West towards Huntingdon or St ives if you Go through other sections on the video the road markings tell you this

Nope Milton roundabout is a controlled roundabout that has lanes. Indicating on this roundabout could cause problems so you only indicate if you are changing lanes. If you are not changing lanes you stay in the lane you're in is that is all you can do.

From 11.37, the car is being driven on a road with only left arrows. But the car is going straight ahead? Could you please explain that bit?

After the roundabout left lane it's for Fen Ditton/A14w. Right lane is for Newmarket /A14e

Why did this driver come into lane 2 when exiting the roundabout (milton to cambridge)?

Because when you come off the roundabout going into Cambridge you need to be in the middle lane. Lane one goes to cambridge north station and lane 3 is science park only. Lane 2 is for city only

Have you found them very helpful. You need to think any road in the local area of the test centre could be on the test. As long as it's not a dead end test could go on it
