“Who’s your daddy?” is commonly used as a boastful claim of dominance over the intended listener. So in this case, ever since the Montreal Screwjob back at Survivor Series 1997 when Shawn Michaels controversially defeated Bret Hart after Vince McMahon told referee Earl Hebner to prematurely ring the bell as Michaels had Hart in the sharpshooter even though Hart did not submit, let’s just say until 2010, Canada absolutely hated Shawn Michaels for defeating their Canadian wrestler in Bret Hart, especially in Montreal. Whenever Raw was held in Canada especially in Montreal, the Canadian crowd would make negative chants towards Shawn Michaels in reference to the Montreal Screwjob. However, that didn’t deter Shawn at all, and he would always respond accordingly to the crowd, especially when he said “who’s your daddy, Montreal?” in 2005.

I was there live that night. I had been following wrestling a bit around that time but didn't have a way to watch it on TV so I had no idea what was going on except for the PPVs (didn't have internet either). I had no way of fully appreciating this for what it was that night but I'm happy to have been there. Also, was this the last time HBK was a proper heel? He turned face the following week after Summerslam/the match with Hogan, so this might have actually been the last heel promo he ever cut.
