Broke the driver side of mine today on a piece of tractor trailer tire flipping under the 2 cars in front of me. Was able to mend it up for the time being with some zip ties (electrician), but it'll all be coming out when I get back home. Thanks for the video.

Great video👍🏾👍🏾. Excellent solution. I am thinking of doing something similar for the same three reasons you stated. Insurance, no holes in the roof, and ease of maintenance. At 100 feet and 10 gague, do those wires ever get hot ? And what brand is your breakerbox and solar panels?
@farmboyfixesАй бұрын
wires don't get hot. I have the panels in series, so it less than 11amps. if anything I do have a loss of watts/voltage because of the length. use 8 guage. my panels are renogy 200 watt, and the breaker can be found on Amazon. lots to choose from.

The older appliances were better built than the designed-to-fail absolute crap they produce now. With a new circ pump that would probably have lived another decade at least.

Great explanations but... what about a mulch blade? Do you just convert the chute? Doesn't it need a different blade install?
@Roll-Tide3332 ай бұрын
I believe taking the chute off and putting the cover on the discharge will keep the grass in so the blade can mulch the grass. I'm not sure but I think that will work,,,

I just made a chute out of some metal flashing I had, long enough to get past the wheel (about 20” long) and slide that under the drain plug and drain the oil into a pan. The plastic drain chute that comes with the mower is junk and too short.

@@farmboyfixes Sasky neighbor to your East here! I'm looking at this tonneau and found your video. I appreciate that you don't open it below -30°C, I imagine the rubber hinges wouldn't like that very much. But how does it handle in the 'warmer' winter temps, say -10°C to -25°C? Do you have to thoroughly clean off the ice and snow before attempting to open, or can you just bust on in without much prep? The truck I'm going to install this on lives outside year-round.
@farmboyfixes2 ай бұрын
@@chippies I haven't used it even in those temps. My new f150 is a garage queen, I use my 2006 silverado in winter. But, knowing the design, I would brush off the snow before opening it.

I have a new unit with instructions and it clearly states that with 120 VAC a 50 AMP breaker is required. But it provides an adapter from large diameter 220 VAC cable coming off the unit to a conventional 120 plug with ground. Something was lost in translation.
@farmboyfixes7 ай бұрын
Yes, translation NFG. No 120 volt plug is rated to 50 amp. Highest I've seen is 20 amp for 120 volt wire guage wire. I have had no problem on a standard 15 amp, 120 volt plug.
