My favourite 360 game and the first arcade game i bought, was Trials hd, a super frustrating motorcross game that reminded me of Kickstart and doing time trials against my now wife and my friends was brilliant.

@FlipScreenGames if you ever visit Langley, BC, the store is named Willow Video and have more than just retro games. They also have consoles and DVDs and Blu-rays as well as vinyl records.

The thing I remember most about the Xbox 360 was being stunned by the graphics! It just looked so good and a big jump from my PS2.

MVG had a good retrospective on this. Its worth watching. I never had an Xbox personally as i'm principally from that era where we gamed on computers instead of consoles; and the PC organically became my primary gaming platform having come from the Spectrum / C64 / Amiga. I suspect this is why Xbox never really got traction in Europe. The Xbox and PC usually had that sort of tight Venn diagram of stuff that runs on both; so naturally pulled in from Sega / Playstation and latterly Nintendo to access stuff I couldn't already get.

Just to add, when Halo came out it was groundbreaking for consoles, the PC crowd had been playing Quake 3, Unreal Tournament and Half Life for 2-3 years at that point; we were 5 years into our FPS and nobody gave a fuck about Bungie; they weren't all that. (at the time)

As a Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch owner, I agree on the future of gaming being handhelds. I at 42 years of the Sega Nomad was my first glimpse of a handheld console that offered the same experience on a TV. People keep crediting the big increase in handheld consoles to the Switch, but truthfully it was the Nvidia Shield handheld that kicked things off; along with other Android and PC handhelds.

8:30 minor correction its more like 50% better battery life on the oled not double. I went from barely 2 hours with good settings in elden ring to nearly 3.

I am a mouse and keyboard exclusive guy, with a million steam games. tempted with the Oled SteamDeck..... i just dont know if I could jam with the controller gameplay.

Yes it’s a bridge between playing games like Elden ring anywhere and playing at home on my main pc. The screen and performance is fantastic for the price. As a full time worker that comes home late, it’s a great device to lay on my bed or couch and play games until I fall asleep.

I agree. I feel like they'll announce steam deck 2 and I'll be upset. But it's just difficult for me in general because I hear certain games don't work well and that's a big con for me.

So I’m someone who very recently bought a refurbished model, returned it and bought an OLED model instead. I had a poor experience with my unit so decided to buy a non refurb instead, and because the sale hadn’t happened yet, the cost of the LCD vs the OLED wasn’t too different. I’d say if you’re a new customer and can afford the OLED, get it. I have no regrets having experienced both and I think it was worth the extra cost for me. The day to day experience is not honestly that different between the two, but that screen is beautiful with smaller bezels and improved color and clarity. Plus the battery on the OG model does kinda suck. But with that in mind, if you already have an OG model and you’re happy with it, I wouldn’t bother upgrading considering what might be coming within the next year or so. It’s like £479 for a device you basically already have, and selling your older model isn’t going to take enough of the sting off that price tag imo.

I vaguely recall Nintendo might have been involved in the opening ceremony in the original plan for 2020, but they and a lot of other sponsors pulled out for obvious reasons. I may be misremembering, but it would have been tremendous to see Mario, Link & co on the world stage in the opening ceremony 😢

Forza Horizon 4 is most likely getting delisted because of the vehicle licenses, not the music licenses. It happens a lot with racing games that use real-life vehicles. Some manufacturers are extremely protective of their image to the point of not wanting their cars ever looking like they can be damaged from collisions. Also, while it was only on Steam for 3 years, it originally released in 2018 which means which ever licenses are expiring now were most likely 6 year licenses.

I made sure to hit Ignore on All the Kingdom Hearts games like I did with All of the Final Fantasy/Octopath Traveler games. I don't like square enix for many reasons from the treatment of their western studios Devs.. So they can stick with your not good enough sony money hats 💰💰 for all I care. Don't come crawling back now Just because the Money isn't good enough to the platforms you've ignored. F square enix, their best studios got sold off tha thankfully.

Great video. I love all three games and this looks like the natural step forward from Inquisition to me. Its confusing to me that all the negative comments about the new game are from fans of Origins complaining that its nothing like it, even though Dragon Age hasn't been like Origins for 15 years. Its like they're ignoring that last two games and the changes that came with them. Super excited for it.

To me this looks very average. Ok combat, ok graphics, ok dialogue, probably an ok story. Looks like a button masher on rails. No real choice or consequences, just follow the npc around and push some buttons. Just not excited for this. Just looks terribly average. However could be proven wrong as more info comes out. Or proven right. I hope it’s better than I think.

I think that's a really heavy read from seeing footage from the very beginning of the game. That's like judging the entirety of DA:O based on seeing a few minutes of the Proving.

Think both can do well, especially if Xbox has a more open windows handheld on it with Steam. It's just the Xbox handheld might outsell the Steam Deck because of marketing and it will be in stores as a recognizable brand unless if Steam Changes that up. It's gonna be interesting and I would love to have both.
