this car reminds me so much of the Honda Ascot 92/93 European Market version that I owned. I found a lantis in a junk yard in a fair state for a cheap price. But I have to control my urges and curiosity. I'll wait a bit. First got to fix some small problems on my mazda axela

I've owned a 94 model and I believe this car has had a serious front collision. The steering wheel doesn't look stock and even the bare bone 94 models back in the day had two front airbags, one in the wheel for the driver and one for the front passenger, where that top glove box exists. And this one even has electric back windows, a rarity.

The earliest generation of this car is so impressive and despite not being interested in much, if anything Toyota makes, this car and the current third generation are such impressive cars. Regarding the paint cracking, I don't know if there really is any fault on the part of Toyota. The car would be 25 years old by the time the buyer acquired it, and as the car had limited rust, I suspect it was not in Northern or Central Japan where there is heavy snow, and I presume, use of road salt (though maybe they are smart and use sand?) Furthermore, these grand automobiles were hand-lacquered by masters in their art, and these definitely are a Japanese counterpart to the Silver Shadow. I remember how the Japanese generally preferred wool seating as opposed to hide upolstery....they didn't like the scent of leather, and I get that because as a kid, I thought it was peculiar. Cadillac, Mercedes, and Lincoln were all making quality, durable cars during the 1960s when this was developed, and all would last indefinitely if regularly and properly maintained. I am just seeing this video first six years from the time of posting, and I hope that it can be restored with minimal hassle and kept as a very interesting representation of automotive grandeur. I have heard the air suspension is a nightmare to repair, and especially for first generation models, I doubt parts are easy to come by, though not impossible in the Internet age. This and the original Nissan President were really landmark cars for Japan. Gorgeous, and best of luck to the owner / restorer!!!!

I know this is an old video... But the attention to details, the build quality and paintjobs on these high end Toyotas is nothing but perfection. I want one!!!

I don't see the sense of the wing mirrors being all the way up towards the front of the car like that.
