Hey, Cam from Seattle, Washington. Really cool series to start following, been wanting to do exactly this in my backyard in a couple of summers. May steal some ideas from you. Watching from the beginning episodes you can really see your craftsmanship improve greatly and quality and speed as well. Good job with the build.

Hi Alex, try suspending a weight (small sand bag) underneath your camera tripod as a counter balance. Might help save your lenses. Cracking videos. Stuart in Robin Hood's Nottingham

I dont understand the moisture proof level? Seems like the only thing that connects all of the building above it is gravity?

Shouldnt you put sealer on the block foundation before you cover it up with dirt for the slope?

I am renovating an 1800`s carriage house in the western US, (I am from the UK). The building has been sitting essentially on dirt, as the stone foundation had largely disintegrated. With no previous experience, I dug out in sections under the building, and poured a perimeter foundation. I have made a lot of progress, but my lack of experience has led to making mistakes, that are compunded with every following stage of work. So, you are not alone with mistakes like the un-level concrete pour.

Jeff from the tiny town of Salem in Connecticut, US. Greatly enjoying the video series. I admire your ambition and positive attitude. Not so sure about a few of your sketchier methods, but you still appear to be in one piece and the barn itself looks great. You've inspired me to try something new on my next video: a voice over.

you're getting there, but why do you make the Mortices so big,,? The timber is soaking wet. hopefully when the building is finished and the timber dries out it wont shrink too much and open up the joints , although not much but enough to let the bugs in.. I personally would pack out the mortice and tenons before i assemble them..

You're an Englishman in England building an English design barn from English OAK, ! You should of at least used an English TENON saw, hence the name..... Its bad enough watching you use those Japanese electric tools.!

If the drill is stuck, take it from the machine. Don’t let the drill turn it lose. That won’t work. Glad you did it in the end.

When it gets stuck put it in revers and back it out, if it has revers. Bosh makes good tools but it's not made for that. If you have a lot more to drill, the Milwaukee hole hawg is a beast. Keep up the good work, I'm pulling for you.

Cole from NEW England, specifically Topsham Maine, in the USA. I found your channel and have binged it all up to the most recent release, and always eagerly await the new video! I work as a videographer but have some general construction skills, taught by dad who was a general contractor building homes from the 1980s to the 2010s. I'd work with him on summers off from school. I am proud to say that he (with very little help from me) came out of retirement to built my "for ever" home for my wife and I. We are so grateful that we had this opportunity! New England has a lot of old colonial era stone homes, stone walls, stone foundations, and stone barns. It's pretty difficult not to take a walk through the woods or a drive in the car without seeing old stone walls criss cross the landscape. I've always had an urge to construct something in stone, something that would be around long past my time, like I see in the stone structures across New England. What your videos is teaching me is that I, a 30-something guy with some general construction skills might fare similarly or slightly better at building my own stone barn/workshop/studio, and that it is possible to take on with a strong enough will and DIY attitude. How did you convince your wife to let you tackle such a task, without knowing a timeline for construction? That's my only remaining barrier, convincing my wife, and possibly finding a good location on our property to place it. Cheers form Maine!

Very interesting build and fantastic craftsmanship on your part! From Kansas USA and there are a TON of abandoned old Limestone buildings from the days when people were trying to settle in this area. The remnants of one are on some property my wife owns and I intend to do with it sort of what you're doing here! what a great project!
