Great video a year ago but just popped up today. I have done some napkins with glue via Natasha’s KZfaq channel, but never considered using it with fabric, which I have tons of as a quilter also. What a great idea.

Thank you so much, Donna! I really appreciate your lovely comment and kind words. We have endured a leak in our home causing us to replace all of our floors, so my craft room is currently in storage. 😫 The ordeal is almost over now, though, so I hope to be making more videos very soon. In the meantime, please enjoy my other videos. Thanks so much for watching!! ~Kathy xo ❤️

I really love your little golden book. 😍What size Spine did you make, 1 1/2 inch? I have a pack of those Brad Ring things from Tim Holtz and I have yet to use them. I think the way you did it looks so nice. I never thought of using breathable tape, great idea!! I found some little golden books at goodwill yesterday and I attempted to make my first one last night. I removed the signatures from a Elmo L.G.B. after I took the signatures out. I used a Heat gun to partially remove the gold foil so I could take the staples out. I just didn’t love the look because part of the foil had pulled away from the book when I took out the signatures. I didn’t lift the entire piece of golden foil off, only up to where the staples were. I used art glitter glue to glue it back in place.

Hi, Deb! Thank you so much!! Sounds like you’re having lots of fun with the project, too. It’s been a while since I made that one, but I think the spine was 1-1/2”. I’m really looking forward to getting my craft room back up and running. The room is painted and the floor is in, but my husband needs to make shelves for the closet and install the baseboards before I can move all my stuff back in from storage. Please be patient with me during this process. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to start making mare videos. Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely comment! ~Kathy xo

Hi Kathy, what a cute journal! I love that you've had that button for over 20 years. I bought a vintage looking clock charm about 20 years ago. I didn't know how to incorporate it into my cards but I loved it so much that I kept it after I stopped crafting. I donated most of my craft supplies but that charm moved with me to different residences. I recently made a journal for my friend to document the cute things her granddaughter says to her and that charm found it's perfect home hooked to the lace of the spine. I would not have been able to part with it except that I knew my friend would love it as much as me.....and she does! 😃 BTW, how are the house repairs going?

It is a bit surprising you had such a job, and you're NOT using an Exacto blade, and a straight edge to cut. I saw several of your mistakes before hand, because using scissors, with out even using a straight edge to mark a line to guide your cutting, caused them. Being in such an exacting industry myself, I learned that simply going by your eyesight is a huge flaw most of the time. Especially giving that most mass produced scissors aren't actually straight to begin with. JMO. Good ideas anyway.
@AtticTreasuresEtc2 ай бұрын
I don’t disagree with you at all. I pretty much always use a straight edge and exacto knife now. This was the first video I posted when I started my channel, and since a lot of paper crafters prefer not to be too exacting I was trying to show that it’s okay to be perfectly imperfect. That said, thanks so much for watching and for your feedback! ~Kathy

Hi Wendy! Thanks, I hope so too! I have a temporary craft room setup in our motorhome, but I’m having some surgery on my hand tomorrow, so I’ll be out of commission for a week or so, hopefully no longer. Hello neighbor l! What a beautiful idea for a journal. Can't wait to see the finished product. Where did you score the wallpaper books?
@AtticTreasuresEtc2 ай бұрын
Hiya! So there’s a Sherwin-Williams store in Lake Stevens. I called them up a couple of years ago and asked if they had any expired wallpaper books and it turned out that they had several they were just going to throw away. They let me take all I wanted. Thanks so much for watching! (Most of my craft room is packed up and in storage since we’re replacing all the flooring. I did set up a temporary craft room in our motorhome so hopefully I’ll be able to make another video soon.) 😅 ~Kathy xo

Did I miss something? Why did you cover the spine area and the little panels on each side when you covered it all up except for the spine
@AtticTreasuresEtc2 ай бұрын
Hi Judie! 😊 If I understand your question correctly, the panels on each side simply connect the spine to the front and back covers. They essentially act as hinges. Then I covered the inside of the spine piece with wallpaper that matched the inside hinges. I hope that answers your question. If not, feel free to email me and I’ll try to explain more clearly. Thanks so much for watching!! ~Kathy xo
