Surprise, surprise - 4 yrs on & Hambini’s still in business. I wonder if it’s yet occurred to the guy that in nearly 150 yrs of ‘safety’ bike development, literally billions of people have gotten around on bicycles w/out ever once thinking “if only I had Hambini hardware!”

The run through the wood is quality haha was there last summer. Found a lad unconscious after hitting a tree and help him. His dad was waiting at the bottom for him with a broken arm because he came off a couple days before. And just hear the mother when they got home 😂

There is a design flow for the rear frame of this bike. Actually the flex of the stay make the tires rubing against the frame. Do you konw if there is a recall for this issue on those bikes sold so far?

hi i m also a ex engineer ,and as you are aware simple just works overcomplicate + more problems, so to be fair to orange they produced a very special bike ,which performs at the highest levels and a simple maintenance ideal for uk ,a straight talking bike that deos what it says on the tin ,they also got slated for producing longer bikes with lower bb and were slated for it ,now the norm ,the guys at orange are testament to a great uk business that produced for the masses in a really simple cute format, the only thing with the modern ones yeah they are really good but alot of tweaks and repairs as more to go wrong, but for the uk in particular if you want a bike that can take the knocks simple to repair the orange is a very honest bike and im sure there will be a steve peat vid using a old v new bike and once, he gets tuned into the old bike i bet it aint far away ,the riders talent took the bike to the highest, which says it all, long live orange bikes, i really hope they survive ,it wont be ,till there gone, that the penny will drop ,as a engineer you can only admire ,what they have achieved, they are works of art and a design classic ,that still relevant today ,and a good ride bye the way in tricky conditions in the best of british weather lol

Some like to use MTB to get / keep fit & so have no desire for a motorised bike.

What is the weight with the range extender?
@e_mtb2 ай бұрын
The "150 works" itself is 19.2kg for size m, range extender is about 1.6kg on top, so around 20.8-21 depending on the frame size + pedals

Doesn't make sense to pay over $3,000 for an analog bike when that's about when you'd get into an e-bike. real expensive analog bikes will probably become a real niche.
@TheRybka302 ай бұрын
It's a sport. People buy expensive analog golf clubs, definitely more expensive than a cheapo air cannon. Essentially does the same thing, yeets a ball down the range. I get ebikes, but it's a good second bike, not main bike for me, and for a lot of mbk-ers on the higher end as well. You know, the ones actually buying the expensive bikes.
@45graham452 ай бұрын
Some do sports to keep fit though & so don't want a motorised bike.
@wvjeepguy81782 ай бұрын
@@TheRybka30 That's fine, but it was niche pre-covid and it's going back to niche. I like to do cross country myself and do it on an $800 hard tail. I'd go as high as 2 grand for an analog bike, but any higher than that and I could pick up something like the new Trek Marlin+. Go a little higher and an Orbea Rise can be picked up for $4,000. Then you have the used market which is another topic.
@wvjeepguy81782 ай бұрын
@@45graham45 right, but you can buy a hell of an analog bike for under 3k. Youre going to get just as good of a workout on a cheaper bike if that's all you're really after.

Problem with Orange bikes is their price. For less than the cost of the Switch hardtail frame, I can get a hand built steel frame from none other than Curtis...and that says a lot. Orange charges boutique prices for stupid alloy frames.

Didn’t do so well. For the record, the DJI warranty program is INSANELY GOOD. I’ve sent my broken drone in 3x. I pay a small fee, they replace the broken bits (or in some cases, the entire drone)…. Buy the protection/warranty plan and have fun.

I used to ride up there years ago from the city. I got there a different way. You go up hill on road (watch out for the gutter going across, esspically when going back to the main road) there's a path on the right that takes you to another path by a long abandoned building at the bottom of the trails. Immediately to your left there's a technical rocky trail, I went there when it was wet so I didn't have a good time on that. Going back down that road you can build up a good amount of speed just be careful of people walking and that F ing gutter. I hit it at 5.30pm I was lucky to find a bike shop to get an inner tube and tools, nice lady closed up late so I could fix my bike. If anyone knows how to get there please let me know, I wanted to take my kid there but google maps took me a different route no where near trails.
