The locomotive is not to blame. The amateurs who totally messed up the motive power, load, line-speed etc.. , etc... were to blame. And, if I were an irresponsible, selfish kretin, I may have surreptitiously greased the rails, to spoil everyone's day

The 8F power classification of the GWR tank proved its worth. I wonder if the Tank could have managed that load on the bank. Nothing like the right tool for the job and sadly the A4 is nothing like the right tool for the job. It was not designed for slogging up a steep bank with a heavy load at slow speeds.

It's lucky that this train stalled where it did on the Dartmouth heritage railway because at least there were no delays to the mainline and there were a few steam locos around to help, very lucky

Never meant to go on a railway as graded as this. Designed for high speed runs up the East Coast. Large drivers mean high gearing! Which idiot thought this was a good idea?

Ive seen a few locomtives on that line struggle. Chris The locomotive is not useless it can the 1 in 49 on the north Yorkshire moors railway.

This was the 1st time I have been to a show over both days. just to watch this layout.

Watching this for ages was a no-brainer! A huge amount of rolling stock - and it was actually moving! (unlike a fair few of the other layouts....)

Nice upload Roger. I have seen them many times over at Chippenham, tending to run between 10:00am & 11:45am on a Tuesday and a Thursday. 4L32 is the headcode, Freightliner 66/4/5 hauled and at some speed. Not the most helpul information but I could possibly find more out if you're interested.
