considering a used 37 and this was a great watch for me. do you how is the soft top in heavy rain. does it leak draft or water ?
@EastCoastYachtSalesКүн бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the video! The soft top handles heavy rain without any problems. We did a video where we talked about the soft top in more detail and even ran some water tests. Check it out! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r6efg9yjt5PWnIU.html

I single hand a twin outboard 30’ WA. The fuel dock I most often use requires me to come alongside against a 2 to 3 knot current. When the marina is hopping, that joystick control sure would be handy. Squeezing between two multi million dollar yachts can get very nerve wracking 😮.
@EastCoastYachtSales4 күн бұрын
The joystick is amazing just for that! Makes getting in and out of the dock a total breeze.

What's really neat about any Hunt design is how they always keep the motor in the center of the boat, even with stern or pod drives, they use jackshafts. Better ride in big seas.

Hi thanks for the video. Do you know how the quality looks when streaming and going 30 knots? I’m not planning to hardwire an analog video cord. Thanks!
@EastCoastYachtSales17 күн бұрын
The quality will be the best with a hardline connection, but the iPad with the WiFi streaming was good. It's what we did for this video. I'm sure there's been updates to the software since we shot this over a year ago as well!

Another comment/question... If the IPS can handle 1000hp, how come the Volvo sterndrives can only handle up to 440hp? At a glance, they are basically doing the same thing.
@EastCoastYachtSales20 күн бұрын
Good question. The IPS drives have 3 different sized pod drives, as you go to the larger HP range the pods get larger in size. The DPI sterndrives have the same power range as the IPS 1 pods (up to 480 hp).
@duncanjames91419 күн бұрын
@@EastCoastYachtSales I wonder what the draft reduction on a Sabre 58 Salon Express with tripe 480hp sterndrives would be. I like the 1350's with pods but am considering any reduction in draft from the smaller IPS pod's. Clearing lines from stern drives is much easier than sending someone overboard with a knife near a rocky shoreline.

Ben, what an excellent idea, reviewing the boats part by part, really showing how the 29 adds space too an accomplished act. The 28 set the bar high, but the brand has bravely moved the game on.. Your presentation style is a joy to watch. I hope you will do a back to back driving video, as complex as it will be to edit.

Great video. I was wondering why the boat doesn't have better options for a mini galley in the pilothouse or forward stateroom? Or a hot water heater? Or maybe this particular boat was not equipped with those options? Otherwise, like in your video, you're having to bring external solutions/extras to make up for it. Seems like those should be standard on a 37 footer. Given the narrow beam, is there more noticeable rocking at low speeds, at anchor, etc? Other than that, I'm pretty obsessed with these boats, the ease of use/docking, and the year-round utility of them. My dad will be listing his boat soon (2010 57' McKinna in NC)and downsizing...hoping he and I may go in on something like this or the 29 or 28 in the next year or two.

Charles, Thanks for your comment. So I subscribe to the 80% rule when choosing a boat. That is to build out a boat that is dialed for how you use it 80% of the time and make accommodations for the occasional situations. So many customers focus their purchase decisions on less than 10% usage and many times they end up with more boat than they need or more equipment. What’s challenging is being realistic about what is 80% use, I find myself fantasizing about multi day cruises, but my reality is I don’t have that much free time to put that into the 80% bucket of needs. In short, axopar does offer electric cook tops and water heaters. For me, I prefer to be able to remove this gear from the boat and not have it permanently fixed. I end up with a simpler boat and have great options for when I want hot water or to cook. What is fantastic about the axopar is how they have kept the boats simple and dialed for how I boat 80% of the time. This keeps the fun-to-trouble ratio to an all time high and results in me using the boat more often. Hopefully we can help get you out on the water some day on a boat that fits your 80% mission. Cheers
