Regarding baseball Moe is incorrect. Big League hitters hold the bat in their fingers.

Thank you, Sir, for so generously sharing your method and lessons on the web. After a few months of work, my drives are almost always on the short grass, and my short game has improved tremendously. I'm 72, been playing about 3 years. My best round so far: 41, 41 for 82. You made the game fun for me!

Hi Kirk, my hand measurement is 7.75, which you say should be the small size, but using the sizing guide on the jumbomax site, I use a Large golf glove, which they say should be a medium size grip. Do you use a large golf glove? Do you still recommend I go with the small size grip? Any instructions I need to provide golf shop when they install grip? Thanks, Peter
@Setup4Impact7 күн бұрын
Unless you want it to feel very thick then I would choose small. The word small does not do it justice. It is a small jumbomax which is thicker than every jumbo grip, yet lighter too. So Small is what I would recommend. Any grip installer can just install them normally.

I think my glove is medium large, but my hand measures 8 inches.

@@Setup4Impact Hi Kirk, Thank you. I put the JMZ Zen Lite Small size on my driver and love it. [Glad I didn't get a larger size. The small is plenty big enough.] If I love it on the driver, can I be confident to get for all my clubs, or would you recommend I try on say my 7 iron first? Thanks for your advise. Best, Peter PS - Only drawback on the grips is they are tight in my 14 divider carry golf bag. Mine clearly wasn't made for Jumbo grips.

Hi Kirk. I too tried the Moe Norman style of playing. I did pretty good for a while, then tinker with my swing and tried the conventional style again. Now at 75, I’m totally lost. Your program looks great and makes sense to me. I had gone from hitting long, high irons to thin and toed shots. Distance was gone and I was totally frustrated.
@dskonsult112 күн бұрын
I had been using a stronger grip. I switched to neutral, when I switched to your single plane. I have been having elbow soreness issues on my upper hand. I was going to try and use your program and go back to a stronger grip. The stronger grip seems to have more forearm rotation. Is that ok?
@Setup4Impact12 күн бұрын
I recommend a stronger grip and one that is customized for each individual. I am not a fan of weaker grips.

It can bend slightly on the backswing, but should be straight through impact. My complete step by step instructions can be found at academy.setup4impact.com

@@thrillkillcult999 Do you really think so? Possibly you missed the fact that I stand MUCH closer to the ball at setup, have a more narrow stance, swing the club back on the same plane I swing down on, let my trailing heel come up before impact, and my leading leg straighten coming into impact, as well as having a much stronger leading hand grip?

My problem is grip. How do you grip the club with the wrists in ulnar deviation without the club handle sliding into your palms?
@Setup4Impact28 күн бұрын
The grip should not move into your hands, unless it is too thin. Make sure the heel pad of your leading hand is on top of the grip, and the thumb of your leading hand is inside the trailing hand.

I found this much easier with larger grips. I settled on Winn LT's, Jumbo; they are + 1/8", with very little taper.
