This is a load of shit, the reason the show ended was they low ratings and they fact that they wanted too much money to continue the show

Mythbusters ended up being just a "what can we blow up and crash" show.

they had a good 5 year run from '05 onwards where they couldn't make enough episodes, all in prime time. You would talk about it the next day. then frankly, it went stale. I was surprised to learn it went another 5 years in that format!

It was a good run but all of our inner childs wanted more even though the reasonable adult new it was in fact a good time to end it

I liked the show when it was just Adam and Jaime. I didn't like the other 3. I turned the channel when they came on.

Grant had a AMA on Reddit where he was asked why did he leave. He said Jamie and Adam had an opportunity to take a small pay cut where himself, Kari, and Tory can continue on. After watching this short clip, it just confirms that Adam was clearly about the money, not for the science or fans nor his “friends”.

I think I cam sum up why mythbusters went out the way it did: 1) That cannonball stunt which was the beginning of the end for Tory, Grant and Kari. 2) Adam and Jamie beefing.

Cancelled? Like mythbusters could ever get cancelled. That question was not asked by a fan, thats some fucked in the mind millenial shit right there to even suggest myth busters could be cancelled, as if she was hoping for an answer where he suggested they took it too far to get cancelled.

The show would have felt extremely odd without Kari Grant and Tori. They were the perfect parallel plot to Adam and Jamie’s experimental plots.

What always bothered me about the end of MythBusters is that Discovery _immediately_ tried to reboot it with a different (obviously much cheaper) cast. Seemed like kind of a slap in the face for everyone who worked on or watched the original run.

I do appreciate that they got to give the show a proper send-off. Viewers (and creators) don't get that as often as then deserve. I think the lack of closure is like a death of a thousand cuts to people's willingness to invest in TV shows.

When Mythbusters started I was 23, not a kid, but still rather young. It was great having these guys on my TV screen every so often.

Sounds like everyone walked away as good as they could’ve. I like this guy and his honesty.

Oh, how my family loves Mythbusters. Our 9 year old daughter has seen every episode at least 20 times (except the few that aren't appropriate for her) and has a 9th grade level of scientific understanding and rational reasoning skills. I credit Mythbusters. My husband and I even got to see Adam and Jamie live 8 years ago when they toured. Even with the tons of concerts I've been to, that was one of my favorite things we've seen.
