(Audio comments aside)... This is one of those tools that isn't really essential BUT as you point out it is good to clearly differentiate different tools on you workbench by having specific 'mini stations' for each process. It kinda cleans up your process... I - like you - used to use an old plate or lid for painting and super glue and I frequently lost sight of where my superglue blob was! So this tool on my desk is a good signpost to where the sticky stuff is! :) Thanks for the video.
@PlasticImaginationWorkshop6 күн бұрын
I totally agree, not an essential too but... I haven't used a plastic lid for glue since I started using this and it's been great. I don't have to worry about dipping my brush in Supers Glue! Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great day.

Hi there, apologies - but are you still having audio problems? There is an annoying high pitched whine going on throughout your commentary. Sounds like some sort of feedback or connection issue and it happens every time you start speaking.
@PlasticImaginationWorkshop6 күн бұрын
No need to apologize, I am aware of it and it's been a real pain. I am not good with audio but I think it is an issue with my mic. I am trying out a different one so hopefully that will help. Thanks for mentioning it. have a great rest of your weekend.

I've always used a liquid soap like Softsoap on my slot cars to insert the wheels into the tires. Just spread a little soap inside the tire and it was easy to slip on. Don't see why it wouldn't work here.

Nice assembly, primer must be compatible to the paint that you use temperature is important paint should be sprayed at about 70° or higher, Dupli-Color works great, with a clear coat , then it can be buffed out with a soft cloth after about 24 hours

Real good review. One thing I have seen to add to your review is that many snippers are meant to cut twice to separate from tree on the first cut then a clean cut second.

I can see it has it's place in our toolbox but one problem I see is getting into corners or a vertical surface. Since the action is reciprocating moving the tool close in will just work like a jack hammer and damage the tool's tip or your part. This is just my thought.

Yeah, it definitely has it's limitations. Thanks for watching and have a great week.

I very much want to hear your narration; however, the background sound obscures that. I am a Ford Mustang admirer, too. I eventually want to build a car carrier trailer (perhaps with a Ford 900 cab) with just Mustangs appropriate for the same year as the tractor.

First off, you did an excellent job on this kit and, like the other comments that were posted, the colors look amazing. I hope you are open to a little constructive criticism and I am definitely nit picking. You did a nice job on weathering the engine, which leads me to believe you are trying to capture some realism to the model. However the frame work is absolutely clean. You may wish to consider adding some weathering to the frame, shock mounts etc. to complete the weathering effect. Once again, I think you did a fantastic job on this kit, please don't think I'm downing your work. I just wanted to make a suggestion that your may wish to follow on future builds. I almost did not make this comment for fear of being misunderstood. Again, its just a suggestion. Your model is fantastic! Oh! and I like the music too!
@PlasticImaginationWorkshop2 ай бұрын
Hey, not a problem. I'm always open to constructive criticism, that's how we all improve. I had actually planned on weathering the frame and other parts of the truck but it came out looking so nice I decided to leave it. Some times I am criticized for adding "too much" weathering to my builds. Thanks for the honesty and the constructive criticism and I am glad you liked the build, and the music. have a great week.

I went searching for OH 6 stuff and you popped up. I've got this kit on the shelf in a box. Nice video and nice build. I'm a drafted, disabled, and 1968 Republic of Vietnam combat veteran. I was a crew chief on the OH 6A helicopter. I trained from Nov 6, 1967 to the mid February of 1968 on Bell UH-1 helicopters and was given an E-4 Specialist promotion in rank. We were asked if we wanted to volunteer for OH 6 training after UH school. Many of us took the offer and went out to the airfield and was given a ride in the OH 6. We trained until about mid March of 1968 on the OH. We were promoted to Specialist E-5. Then we were put on kitchen police (KP) duty while waiting for the Army to decide our fate. This all happened at Fort Eustis, Virginia. I had started my basic training at Fort Knox on August 24, 1967. We had been transported by train from Fort Knox to Fort Eustis. I came from a 1400 acre family farm in Michigan near Flint. I arrived in Vietnam about May 6, 1968. The first place I was sent was the 765th Maintenance Battalion and they were working on an OH 6 and they didn't have any manuals. They were trying to get the transmission out through the top. Wrong! I showed them how to bring it down through the passenger compartment. I was the put on a civilian aircraft carrier putting rotors on Cobra gunships for 2 weeks off the coast of Vung Tau. The 1st aviation brigade was looking for me. They were ticked off with the unit for stealing me. My first mission I was on was shooting up a bombed out a Cong base out in the jungle swamp. These Cong had board walks out above the swamp. We shot up generators and all kinds of equipment. The mini-gun would turn the helicopter. I shot a hole in the skid while turning a loaded minigun during my test of the gun. The skids squat down and so when the helicopter picks up, the skids move in giving the gun room to shoot without hitting the skid. The mini-gun did have these expensive gun sights. We discarded these sights because they were worthless. All the pilot had to do was aim the helicopter and the button on the cyclic stick would move the gun up and down. We did not have any paint on the top of the rotors untill probably the fall of 1968. We then painted a required white stripe about midway the rotor. If you look at pictures ir videos, you might see the white stripe paint. These helicopters were the best because they had push pull rods and no hydraulic system. There was a small but separate hydraulic type support at each skid. The Allison turbo engine was weak. Loaded, we had to skid down the runway to take off. Too hot for good lift. We ran out of JP-4 gas in Indian country. The Australians rescued us using a UH-1. If one lined the foot pedals up at a certain point and throw smoke grenades, it would hit the mark. The worse part of Vietnam was the smell, the fortnight I spent in a field hospital, and the rocket and mortar attacks.
