This was written for a show created from a 70s Manga called Grendizer U. It's about a prince from another world who is forced to flee with some refuges when his homeworkd is destroyed. He ends up on Earth but finds that the same villainous force has followed him and threatens Earth so he makes some local friends who join for the fight.

Song is for an anime, the lyrics seem to fit the general theme. The red flower line may simply be an inside joke. Lead singer has a blue flower in her head piece. Back up singer always has a red flower in her head piece.

Just to let you know, Band-Maid, on their official website, announced that they will release "Show Them" on Thursday, August 8th. It's the collaborative official music video of the song they wrote and performed with The Warning in July. They have put out a teaser shots of the video on their website as well. It looks like it is going to be an amazing hard rock banger!!!!!!

I don't know... Thematically, they are so far apart from each other. The lyrics in Protect You fit the anime so well.

Great reaction guys, one of my favorite instrumentals in a pack of outstanding instrumentals . Glad you're having fun with the Band-Maid videos, best rock band around. BTW, you probably need to branch out now to some of the other great Japanese female rock/metal bands. While Band-Maid, for me, is my all time favorite going all the way back to the late 60's, there are a lot of other great all female bands that you need see also. I'd start with Garcharic Spin (chaos) and their song "MIndset" (OMV). Then anything by Lovebites (metal). This will then be a small peek at the amazing depth of the Japanese rock and metal scene. So much great music, so little time. LOL

This was the song that changed everything for me. Probably many others as well. Few bands do instrumentals. Even fewer bands have the talent to do instrumentals. It’s rarified air where these Maids are where they can make you feel different emotions and travel along the storyline of the composition Here are a couple more songs that I think are statement pieces. “Thrill” “Blooming” “About Us” “Endless Story,” official live with captions on.

BAND-MAID has everything a rock band needs: a killer bass player, a monster on the drums, a genius composer for a lead guitarist, a charismatic vocalist, and a rhythm guitarist/vocalist willing to do everything she can to help her band-mates achieve greatness. They're all amazing at what they do.

You're right, Kanami did the singing with her guitar. Personally, I think the message is that Band Maid isn't holding back From Now On. In fact, one of their instrumental songs is named Without Holding Back. Another is called Onset. All the names refer to the music itself.
