Yes, but it still has to be modified/improved like Lyoto machida did to make it effective.

Why did you use an AI voice? It undermines the truth of what you are trying to get across. The pronunciation is awful.

I like your video though you have no real notion of self defense. Your opinions are mostly based on your personal thoughts and not reality.

This video is great overall but how in the world does one think that BJJ is better for multiple attackers? You roll around on the ground with one guy, that is completely useless even if there is one girlfriend nearby with a purse or high heels that she can bash your face with. Aikido actually is one of the only martial arts that trains one specifically against multiple attackers and attackers with weapons. In fact all the techniques you mentioned, literally every single one will work with an attacker with a weapon, as that is where they come from. They come from techniques the samurai used on the battlefield if they were disarmed and were being attacked by someone who still had a weapon.

Aikido is the best to fight your crazy girlfriend, i tell you that. But seriously tho, it could be good as your second MA maybe? It gives some insight in struggle dynamics, physics behind body movement and escaping technics. You don't really want to go to jail because of some drunken fool who cracked his skull by the pavement after all, do you? As stand alone MA tho, i don't know. Kinda doubt that. But as the way to broaden your horizons a bit...

You seem to have some limited knowledge but some of your analysis is just backwards... What other martial art practices asymmetric combat like Aikido does? No other martial art practices multiple attacker sparring the way aikido does randori. And it's weapons, especially its disarms like jodori and jonage are S tier, and being able to fight from the ground is certainly NOT one of aikido's strengths (and many more)... But the real reason why I know you don't know what you're talking about is that you managed to completely butcher the pronunciation of basically every japanese aikido term you used, which means no one who has ever taken more than a single class of aikido in their life actually reviewed this video for any kind of accuracy...

I think the problem with the martial art community is that they treat martial arts like pokemon. Like "muay thai is the best because 1 leg kick is all we need" or "yeah but all a boxer needs is 1 punch to snap you back to reality". Instead they should be treated more like tools. Every martial art has its drawbacks and strong points, so instead of idolizing one and shunning the others, we should spread and learn techniques from multiple arts like MMA. After all, you'd rather be a boxer who also knows some aikido and bjj than just a boxer right?

Aikido is effective if you mixed it up with techniques from other practical MA like boxing or bjj until it become combat aikido then pressure test it in the ring.

Majority of this is not Shotokan. You want to talk Shotokan, then put Shotokan in your clip or just keep it blank. Clumsy as f-ck.
