It’s all about having fun. Enjoy working on the old girl, & you’ll enjoy it. I drive a T3, & I never know if I’ll make it home again.

I was exactly one member of the army who was deployed in such facilities. I spent my entire service from 1976 to 1995 in such fortifications. We always had at least 3 and often even 4 active firing days per week on the refresher course. We practiced and trained constantly. I was an artillery gunner.

If you want to see what NOT to do when you go out on a Winter walk up a mountain, then you have stumbled on the place to find out. Absolutely clueless and a danger to themselves. First and only time I will watch any of their videos.

Sorry it’s a bit harsh don’t you think as long as they learned from this experience and realise they should be better prepared next time , once they realise it’s was not safe they came back down so they did the right thing

If those dark clouds had dropped a load of snow and caused a whiteout, they could have been in very serious trouble. I stand by what I said.

I looked at this yesterday in the Go store. Still undecided between this and the new Tentbox lite 2.0 But given the wife won't go camping no more this is probably as much as I need for myself and the bike on the towbar. I was thinking about the Campal estate in car bed setup if my son wanted to come as well, two apartment on the cheap.

Speedwell cavern is at the bottom of Winnats pass, its got a boat in it. Treacliff cavern is ahead of you on the road you're on, and peak cavern is behind the houses (AKA the devils arse, they have good gigs in there) Theres also Pooles cavern in Buxton. The outlaw John Poole would clip the edges off coins and melt them down to make new coins. Which was very naughty back in the day.

I gather it's for sleeping under the stars, but what of the condensation when all openings are closed up for rain cover/wind breaking? Has anyone defeated the wretched condensation talked about in some other reviews? If so, how? I really wanted to get one and still do, just need to hear solid problem solving.

WWII fortifications are incredibly boring. They were emptied of interesting stuff down to the last nut and bolt way before you were even thought of. What remains is empty space, mold, rotted wood and garbage. The darkness and quiet are the most interesting thing about them.
@stevebennett65938 ай бұрын
Mr Killjoy LOL, I went there in about '95 , accessibility was good then, you could explore the entire base and get into the mines through holes in the ends of some chambers. There was still a lot of interesting things to see even though there were no bombs to take home. History that's all that remains.

Looks great for the price, I myself have a tentbox light 2.0 yes it's a little more expensive but, it's very well engineered and built from high quality materials. I've just returned from a trip to Lindisfarne on the North East coast, it never stopped raining for two days and with strong winds blowing over 30ks per hour, it really did show how well built it really is!
