yeah watching this brings back so many horrible memories of TB.. VO is better in every way it just is. especially if you have no vision at all.. it's worse on Samsung since they want their own version of TB and do not bother to update their trash screen reader..

I just wish that the "Android accessibility Suite - select to speek" function could work on Windows 10 devices. I have tried several screen readers and found that select to speak works best in my use case.

I'm sorry, but what's the point of a phone specifically designed for blind people? Modern day smartphones already have technologies built-in to help blind and visually impaired people, and all you literally have to do is turn the accessibility feature on. What would make a person put down their accessible iPhone with voiceover turned on or their android with talk back turned on and use this? This phone makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Sorry not sorry.
@LiveAccessibleАй бұрын
For most people who are blind or visually impaired, a smartphone is what they want. Some people prefer buttons and a more simple interface. This is especially true for the elder population or those with other disabilities and other challenges like motor where it's More difficult to physically perform gestures. I understand where you're coming from, but smartphones aren't for everyone.
@Yon.04Ай бұрын
@@LiveAccessible OK. Fair enough, but are we going to deny the fact that they're already elderly people that utilize smart phones. Again, the iPhone has accessibility features built-in. People who have motor issues have accessibility features built-in to help them and majority of those features are cross integrated meaning that one accessibility feature works with the other. This means that the blind shell would only work for a very small percent of people, if those people even exist. I'm sorry, I'm just really having trouble understanding the point of this phone. I think it's cool that a company thought about this, but with so many other solutions available, it really makes it pointless.
@LiveAccessibleАй бұрын
You're absolutely right. This is only serving a small percentage of people in the blind and visually impaired community. However, the need for simplicity and tactile physical buttons is definitely present. While there are many elderly people who have success with a smartphone, it's definitely not a solution for many or all. It can be frustrating for some to learn and often there is much resistance. There are built in accessibility features, but again, that adds complexity and someone has to set it up and teach how to use these features and there are hiccups as there are some conflicts in different accessibility features. For work efficiency, a physical keyboard is a must for me. While i can use a touchscreen keyboard, it is slower, more difficult, and i make many more errors. That can be translated to other people and their situation and needs. Needs and preferences differ and i don't see that as difficult to empathize with. At the end of the day, we are all free to choose the devices that best work for us. Some find it useful and some don't. It harms no one.

Thanks, my AMD is getting worse at 74. Keyboard is hard to use and i have some programming and electronic projects to finish. WeZoom is great, it doesn't seem to timeout. Triple tap and hold will time out before i can find the place where i want to solder. or even the boxes on the 1040 tax form. Thank you very much Do you have suggestions for monitors? I hays bought a 32 inch LG and have it is set for 1280x720, to allow better text but its not quite enough, I still have to scroll zoom a lot. Again, thanks

Hi there! I'm glad it's helping. Let me answer your questions but first I just want to Just let you know that have a new channel called carrie on accessibility. This channel has been discontinued. I would discourage you from changing your resolution. At least not too much. What you can actually do if you're using Windows is change display scaling. It keeps it sharp while still making everything larger. You can play around it with the percentages. I have mine I think around 175% or maybe 200%. It also just depends on your monitor. You can also change text size. That changes a lot of the UI user interface text. On Android, you can just triple tap without holding. You can do both. If you only triple tap it will stay there and then you can pan around with two fingers. The triple tap and hold is great because it helps you read faster. Or move around faster. They do have large high contrast keyboards. There are pretty nice ones on Amazon. It will be more expensive if it's wireless but there is an Azio one that is wired and backlit for a decent price. Does that help at all? Feel free to also comment/message me through Carrie on accessibility.

In Sweden we get them they say player at Cetra for free and I do prefer you think it over on my smart phone since I told Hasse a lot better battery for instance and we have old version of the book thing as well hundred thousand titles already and if there’s someone that’s not, you can always ask them to read one and I have asked them to read in five books and they won’t have. I got them ready. Yes perfect and everything is totally free. since unlock the United States, we are not a developing country. One comes to healthcare and things like that. I know you’re Canadian, but I bet there are some Americans here as well.
