Thank you for this interesting video. In my case I had the solenoid stuck. I made it move manually once, and it got back to work. The symptoms are very different, FF and RW work well. Play does not "clack" and the head does not go up (the tape just winds up). A few years later without operation it was stuck again (looks like magnetic, no dust, no rust, nothing sticky).

U81 is a communication error with the microprocessor. Press power it should go back

Was a really good camera, against the horrible and basic models that Panasonic did with S-VHS system... Selling MS1 (no Hi-Fi, old CCD, bad mechanics) until 1993, offering MS4 until the system died (horrible optical system, no vumeters, no v-in, no ears output, no real CTL counter, basic plastic noisy build, stupid 12v charger 20 years old, slow zoom, the same mechanic system...). Pity that V5000 wasn't S-VHS or C mode.

ive never stopped using cassettes.ive spent many years making the format better by modding the bias circuitry and running the tapes fast for amazing sound. i then build my own tape players for my own use that have spectrum anaylizers equalizers and vu displays using circuits and boards i manufacture myself using easy EDA.

My internal hard drive cant be accessed and it cant find external hard drives, except one and it wants to reformat it, but its full and i dont want to lose the content. I can unplug it and put another hard drive in that has nothing on it, and format it. When i turn it off, i have to do it again, and the channels are blank until i click on them. So i assumed it musnt have power in that battery. I got one from the supermarket and replaced it. But it didnt fix anything. I am not tech savvy enough to know what the problem is. Nothing looks broken

I have a tandberg tcd 310mk2 that I bought recently and it started to exhibit a problem with the stop button , the head bridge does not release completely . Could you by any chance be able to give me a hint , of a possible cause for this?

I think JVC from late 80s into early 90s were well built and usually had good sound quality. Nothing amazing but they did a good job for the consumer level audio products.

Ni-cd needs pulsating charging. Full rectification will make them hot due to native low internal resistance. Bedini radiant charger is best.

The mechanism in this deck is almost the same as tgat of AKAI HX A1,the motir is also the same,12 v dc.In my case after changing all the belts when I was fixing the screw of the white colour lever I used the wrong screw of rge oitside body which resulted in the cracking of the plastic body.Any how O have just managed it and the lever goes just up and down perfectly .If I tighten it the playback continuously happens as the lever dies not go down.AKAI HX A1 is also a crap model ,but yhe motor is useful.

My CD player opens but doesnt close by oressing the button. It closes when i give the tray a little push. What else could be the problem besides the wheel?

If scratched up, the plastic windows can be poished by fine automotive polish. Not wax, but polish. Its designed to eliminate the scratches in clearcoat, and it will work well for plastic windows too. It obviously won't work if the plastic itself is cloudy all the way through.

I think I am able to fix them, they are looking good.

Can you explain the differences in cassettes in their sound quality?

In the late 80's I had a Technics double cassette deck. Played and recorded well, I used to record alot of music from cassette to cassette. I liked the double cassette feature.

I had this back in 1987. I bought it at Circuit City. My first CD player

I made my own speed tape using a Sony TC-K850ES (wish I didn't sell it) which is quartz locked, direct drive but I also did have the Sony speed tape. If I remember right with the Sony tape it played at 2998 and held very steady. So I know my speed tapes are good as it also read very steady. I used nos late 80's Sony HF 60min tape. I'm pretty sure the Sony test tape was a 60min tape in a high quality shell similar to a Sony UX-Pro shell. Also when setting speed play the tape from the middle section to the tape.

Dieses scheint auch WRMS (kommt übrigens aus Japan, währen DIN aus Deutschland kommt, wie an der Abkürzung ja auch deutlich zu erkennen) anzuzeigen (über die Einstellung JIS, die deinem Gerät fehlt).
