I got into reading again because of my new ereader! physical books are so impractical to me. i love reading but i rarely did because i hated carrying (even more) books with me and because i hate holding a book while lying down. To me it is super super important that the ereader has physical buttons, for the exact reasons that you mentioned: the touchscreen sucks. its not a bad thing necessarily, it is just the nature of current e-ink technology (that is also affordable). the only reason why companies stop implementing buttons is because buttons are more expensive to produce, making ereaders super impractical. *that* i have a problem with, because e-ink screens still suck! so i got the Pocketbook Verse pro version. it utilises both touch screen and physical buttons. i hate it when it turns the page when i accidentally tap the screen. other stuff: - accessibility features like dyslexia font, big letters, and text to speech - audiobooks - built in dictionary. literally just press and hold a word and it can look it up for you

I feel like for someone who has never read The Maze Runner it might seem like a really dumb book where the scientist are all just idiots but when you actually read it it makes a lot of sense and is actually really good. It’s also important to note that they already live in an apocalyptic world before this disease came out so they barely had anything left of humanity and were really desperate. (The purpose of the trials is to try and find a cure)

As an argentine I love the international success that Mariana Enríquez has earned these last years! I would also recommend Samantha Schweblin, another great writer from our country with great short stories and nouvelles.

Being abe to download a sample of a book from the kindle store before you decide if you want to buy it is nice as well, in my opinion. Replacing your physical library with an e copy is an added cost for sure, put people off. Integration with goodreads is a consideration as well. Great video, thank you for sharing.

I wonder if all these "best selling" authors would feel embarrassed how a tentacle monster is a more decent and respectful human being than the actual human male characters they write in their "romance" books

I tried getting a Kindle some years ago, but it didn't work for me. I think it was also that I wasn't actually in a phase of my life I did so much reading, but now that I have been reading heavily for two years, I am actually running out of space for physical books. And I'm not the kind of person who reads one book at a time, or only keeps the one currently being read; if I own a book and liked it, I will want to keep it. However much I enjoy books as physical objects, how they look, feel, and handle, my main love is for the text they contain, and so I will consider getting an e-reader at some point - though I am conscious of the fact that you can get a decent bookshelf for the same as a Kindle costs. At the moment, I still have a lot of books to read first since I've been buying them faster than I've been reading them. Naturally. It's important to have a decent selection when you finish a book so that you'll have exactly the kind of book you feel like reading next already in your bookshelf.

If your hair is not hot-pink and your girlfriend is not from high-end of your city and got you out of jail to find your sister - you have no right to call your girlfriend "cupcake".

sometimes there's a certain thing that just scratches an itch in your brain, & that's what determines your taste. i don't think it's useful in any way to judge people for their taste in books -- not least because it actually discourages reading. i also think it's very narrow-minded to think that people will only ever read one specific type of book, not only are people much more complex than that but no matter the trope there are not an infinite amount of books catering to it. unfortunately i feel like this is purely online discourse like everything else.

I’m so curious to watch this and gain a different perspective because to be honest, I really disliked the film. It just feel completely flat for me, even more so than the last mockingjay movie which was my least favourite of the book instalments. It felt like the lost all of the rawness, pacing and maturity that The Hunger Games and Catching Fire had.

If you're enjoying that concept of an infection that leaves ppl with some magical power and also that they are then kind of shunned in society because of it, Marie Lu's The Young Elites trilogy has the same thing! It is YA, but cool world building, and I think you might enjoy kind of morally gray-ish main character and her character arc over the whole trilogy. The ending of the trilogy hit me hard

saying this as a girl who was obssessed with the maze runner as a preteen, the true ranking of the maze runner is "nice decor". is just an action/apocalypse story with teens that happens to be in an dystopian scenario, but in the end is just post apocalyptic action

5:00 sometimes I wonder if people who write these "disguises" are, like me, faceblind or at least adjacent to that Because to be completely real, if my best friend coloured their hair and wore slightly different clothes I'd not recognize them, heck, my mom could colour her hair and I'd not recognize her if I didn't know she'd do it
