Zess T. is quite the character. She is quite tough, too, as shown in the final RDM issue. Interestingly, she is supposed to be the sister of Tayce T. (the first game's chef).

Like many others here, I can vouch for quick change. It's my fav badge and dramatically changed my battling experience for the better. I unequipped it once mid pit and it just felt wrong... like my game was broken, or I've committed a sin.

Many other comments have mentioned that Quick Change is very good but it has one quirk that makes easily the best badge in the game. You can use it to make a partner permanently buffed as the buffs only count down at the start of each turn so you can tag the partner in, use their turn to attack and switch them out while getting both turns. Note this also applies to debuffs as well so you can bring out a debuffed character to bring down those counts at the same time. I didn't know about that quirk until after completing the game but even without that strat there is no way I could've beaten the Pit of 100 Trials without Quick Change letting me use the perfect partner for each attack or bringing out a healthier partner on enemy turns. Thanks for shouting me out Casey! I know Ian said it in a joking manner but I absolutely have done the same thing while playing games *without* having to make commentary so don't worry about it man!

Ian continues failing in this episode by thinking quick change isn’t worth it after spending 14 full episodes and 20 minutes looking for the star piece trader who’s literally four rooms from the start of the game (North, East, Down the pipe, West, starting from where the ship drops Mario off)

So far what I've learned is that Ian should maybe rely on his memory of TTYD a little less. But what he can always rely on is gaslighting.

Favorite chapter? 3 is definitely a strong contender, but 4 is the one all about [spoilers], and then 6 is just a really fun setpiece, and 7 has the best music track in the game... Hard choice. Ian, please stop trolling Casey like this. Unless you want water poured on you again? The game does tell or hint some of the recipes, but I'm pretty sure a number of them require trial and error or just looking them up. Oh, you off-camera'd the badge! I thought it was just for fights that wouldn't give exp, but maybe it's also any 1 exp enemies, too? Casey sure has some food preferences there! I wish Dunkin just stuck to donuts. And so Ian realizes the truth =) I'd say Quick Change is very worth the 7 BP. The ability to change your partner without taking up a turn is really useful for adjusting to situations on the fly. Plane game is good for racking up those piantas. And I can't help but notice your distance that first time was yet again 413. You cannot escape Homestuck-related coincidences.

I believe the comment you looked at about Lumpy was mine. Ian needs a lot of coins to invest, but it will be very worthwhile to do. You can’t invest anymore once you start Chapter 3, so I mean it ASAP. Also Ian dismissed Quick Change, but as the rest of the comments are saying, Quick Change is one of, or if not the best badge in the game. It opens so many more possibilities for partner strats and I only took it off once or twice. I was hoping more comments would be read but I understand why you wouldn’t want to read everything. Also as far as I’m aware, there’s only a few recipes that are explained in the game. I had to look up about 90% of them.

Man this is great stuff. I would also say to not be too fussed about what badges to get- you've played this before, you know how it goes. One of the great things about TTYD is how it's very malleable and you can basically play however you want. If you want to be a tank and just grind down enemies old-school, you can do that. You want to be a special move blasting cannon? You can do that. You want your partners to be the workhorses while you chill in the back? You can do that. No playstyle is 'bad' in this game, IMO.

the Quick Change badge is literally so good dude like it's one of the most important badges to get in the game being able to freely swap partners without using up a turn is super good!! if you need to Tattle an enemy and Goombella isn't out or wanna change your strategy on the fly, the Quick Change is so good~ you can even swap partners after your partner has already taken their turn!

I just want to point out since Ian initially dismissed it, while 7 BP may seem like a lot, Quick Change is arguably one of, if not the best badge in the game. Being able to swap partners mid-battle without wasting a turn makes adapting to different strategies and responding to what enemies are about to do so much easier and allows for otherwise impossible strategies. And in case it wasn't clear from its description, this works regardless of whose turn you swap partners on. As soon as I bought it in my playthrough, it never came off for the rest of the game.
