I was raised in the Bulkley Valley in British Columbia.I knew Joe and Jim Watson growing up.There still is quite a few Flyers fans in Smithers and Telkwa.I was,6 or 7 years old when they won the 2 cups.The Watsons had a hockey school in Smithers.I was too young to realize that a lot of people were Flyers fans at the time,I was a Montreal fan. I was sitting in the Smithers barbershop the year before they won the cup.I was saying look at Montreal go mom.Jim and Joe got knocked out of the playoffs that year.They said look at us.J8m and Joe were a little cranky at me.

Victor Buono was a dear and kind man besides being a VERY funny comedic actor. I remember several of the things he did including his episodes of the Wild Wild West, Batman and the Odd Couple. Bette Davis and he were friends and she was the one who insisted him for the role of the piano player in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane. In fact, here is a story of that film. When Victor came onto the set, he had been warned about the feud between Ms. Davis and Ms. Crawford. The acting between the two was in part not acting but a hatred between both women in their final careers. The scene where Victor comes in to play and the look he gave shows just how frightened he was to walk into that cat fight. In fact, the take was done in 1 take and afterward Victor got the hell off the set as he had no wish to be in the line of fire so to speak. He was always a gentleman and I was shocked and very saddened to hear of his sudden death. The world has lost a gentleman, a scholar and a truly great actor. RIP dear Sir.

In US I subscribed to a Sling tv on computer I discovered to watch these games for duration of playoffs at $27.50 1st month. Then cancel. As I have no use after for the movies on it. And I cut cable before. The games it telecast are from Espn and TNT. And yes the days of Peter Puck on cbs games are long gone in states. Its pay for everything. Not progress which is typical in these times. All about greed.

Besides the two 3rd period goals against the NYRs Gilles Villemure in game 6 of the 1972 finals (the second goal just barely trickled in over the goal line) he also scored 2 third period goals against the Blues Glenn Hall in the 1970 finals game 3 in the Boston Garden. Perry was an idiot and a terrible coach, but Mulvey's story is a bit more nuanced. He was a fringe NHL talent and would have been seen by NHL brass as a role player enforcer. If he's not willing to do that then his value is diminished. Too bad he didn't stick with the Oilers.

kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hMthrJOCqLW1f4E.htmlsi=dqZWbNybGCuMIYO7 A popular myth is that after Stan Jonathan broke Pierre Bouchard’s nose, the spraying blood got all over linesman John D’Amico’s face. The truth is the linesman’s face was covered in his OWN blood, not Bouchard’s. When the scrum first broke out, D’Amico was clipped by an errant stick. He got a cut between his eyes. In the video, you can see the linesman getting his cut tended to by a Boston trainer.
@JJGovernorCarrier

Not according to what Kenny told me...We did a presser when he was running for the Liberal leadership and noted he had both his and Pierre's blood on his face and Butch had a hairline fracture in the dressing room...It came up after I asked him a question on the 1978 series as a sideline to my big story
@christopherjaskowiak9073
@christopherjaskowiak9073 5 күн бұрын
@@JJGovernorCarrier I have a really cool picture of the fight as it was just beginning. They are both swinging and D’Amico and other players are standing right near them. This was before Jonathan cranked Bouchard in the nose, as in the pic you can see Pierre is unscathed. The linesman, however, has blood already streaming down his face from the gash between his eyes. Some other player’s stick hit him when the scrum began. I’m sure a few sprinkles from Bouchard’s busted snout got on D’Amico, but most of that blood covering his face and the end of the fight was his.
@JJGovernorCarrier
@JJGovernorCarrier 5 күн бұрын
Again, you are a stranger and Kenny is the one who was there so he trumps the both of us...He also said that Lupien was ineffective and Butch took up the slack on the pairing, which may have led to that scrum...There was no blood stain test for DNA back then for ref and D mix LOL

At anytime rape is wrong. In the year 1979 things were changing on tv and expecially in the movies. Women (because of birth control) was more promisues and even now today women have a sexual freedom that was unheard of then. The only thing that keeps going thru my mind why Genie does not blame her parents for allowing this to happen, not ABC. Anthony Geary wasn;t thinking that this would happen as it did and lead into a career.. People identified with Luke and was forgiving him. If Genie keeps blaming ABC and her fans why does she not expecially blame her Father and Mother for letting this happen? This is what turns me off on Genie Francis, and the way she wanted out from being cast with Anthony Geary.. Genie better grow up and except some of the blame herself. I think is is being inappropriate for not saying no to ABC, Gloria Monty and most of all her Father and Mother.

Andy Messersmith and Curt Flood are True Men of Character. The fact that few professional Ballplayers come to their aid or even thank them for challenging baseball’s “reserve clause” doesn’t say much for the character of today’s Ballplayers. I doubt that many of today’s ball players even know who Andy Messersmith and Curt Flood are. The media, who Control Major League Baseball, are also to blame, along with the baseball agents. Few mention Flood and Messersmith. The media and players control who enters Baseball’s Hall of Fame. Some of the players voted into the Hall were not half the players Flood and Messersmith were.

In high school when the Flyers won their 1st Cup on Spectrum ice in 1974 brought the city of Philadelphia to life. For over a decade we had not won a championship in any of the major sports. A couple of days after winning the Cup, the city had a great parade starting out at the Spectrum and going through Center City Philadelphia. This was my 1st Sports parade. Great hockey history but you have to be an "old-timer" to remember Rick MacLeish and the Flyers of that era. That was fantastic hockey! I saw Rick play in the Montreal Forum in 1974 with Philly vs. Montreal. It was the first game of the year between the two, the season after Philly won Stanley. All the legendary names on both teams were there with Fred Shero and Scotty Bowman behind the benches. I feel very lucky to have seen both the original "Broad Street Bullies" and the greatest Montreal Canadiens team of all time. I vividly remember what a great skater Rick MacLeish was, flying down the ice with his hair in the wind in the days when very few players wore helmets!
