They did give a lot of attention to a pretty much non-existant problem, that amplified the sales of the mostly PG13 material that was out there being elevated to revered status, but opened the door to hardcore and porn rap that really ushered in a truly dangerous level of misoginy and actually DID probably screw up a FEW kids... it really made what they feared happen more than it helped... Then the industry dug its own grave with their own greed so that no bands and no record companies can truly make a living off music, good or bad. Very little good music is being made until they can prevent piracy... which now is being done by NOTHING even being made that is even worth pirating. Lol.

PMRC helped make rock and metal even bigger and more popular. I grew up during it all and graduated in 1990 and I loved it and still do

I know he's got the piece! Badass funny. Jimmie used to play Cream and Hendrix when he was 17. The blues got to him concurrently and he had a major stylistic shift hence his "minilimist" playing. One listen to the record "Girls Go Wild" and technical has almost no meaning... yet it is technical... technical blues, man. Try doing that. The coolness factor here on J.C. off the charts.

The PMRC was a complete failure because let’s face it, a young person who has not matured yet will look at this warning label and become even more curious about how bad the lyrics really are. 😎👍🏻

Cindy Blackman is my favorite lady drummer. The way she slips in that slightly ghosted downbeat on 3 knocks me out. I've seen dozens of bands cover Fly Away but their drummers always miss it.

Wow... @57:04 Just 8 years after this episode aired, Morton was diagnosed with lung cancer and had one lung removed. He became an anti-smoking activist for the last five years of his life, passing away in 2001.

What I truly appreciate about Cheap Trick is their versatility. You really can't place them in one column or another. Yes, they rock. Yes, they sing pop. Ballads? You bet. They write unique songs and if they cover another artist - Elvis, Beatles, John Lennon - they put a different spin on it. Robin is as much an actor as he is a lead singer, taking on a new role with each song. 💓🤘🏼🎸

By 1989, Twisted Sister was done. How many other "rock" musicians turned down this opportunity before JJ says yes, LOL! Also, French is lying about the drugs and alcohol since he claimed to have shared the stages with Ratt, Metallica and Motley Crue-3 bands who drank a lot and did many drugs - FACTS!

59 still a metal fan in 2024, I was in an Army uniform at 17 for 21 years. I'm a grandfather of 20 grandchildren 7 grown children. It was a grift, just like Elvis was with his hips they wouldn't show on TV. The Green deal is a grift, just as fluorocarbons in the 70s. The polar ice caps were supposed to be all melted by 2000. Wake up sheep. It's amazing what people get indoctrinated with.
