The D5 is ridiculous Even with extended leather, the lower part of the dashboard is in poor rubbish Kia-like plastic. The screens show fingerprints more than what they should display. The seat's leather on the one of your video comes directly from an e90. The V6 hybrid petrol shakes as much as a V6 TDI The D4 was way better than the D5 : just a shiny piece of shit with fake chrome to make it shine, but poor quality.

Daniel, it was your videos on the W220 and 221 that influenced me to by one of each over the last 8 years. I have re- watched each of them annually as they are so entertaining and refuel my passion for the car. I have really enjoyed both, and done a lot of repairs on both. Basically fixed all the common issues on each one. One thing I learned is that it is cheaper to buy the best maintained one than to fix up the cheap one. Oh, and you will enjoy the car better if you are driving it more than you are under it. Next time I might follow this advice. So... Where is the W222 video? They are hitting ideal depreciation and the prices of cars are finally getting back to reasonable. Now's your time my friend.

Will Blaster silicone lubricant work as well? Seems to be easier to find.

I have owned w220 (from 2008 to late 2013) and I can say that this is literally the worst S class ever made and the worst flagship sedan of its time according not just to me but to the majority of car journalist and Merc enthusiasts . Reliabilty is rock bottom, from major rust issues to extremely unreliable air suspension and electronics, only engines are fairly reliable but that is usless when your whole car is badly built. Ride is very very comfortable, but the badly built suspension will make your car sitting at the mechanic more than it will be on the road. And hell no, it does not look good at all, its far from good let alone gorgeous. Interior design is very lazy and boring, it feels downmarket compared to its rivals because it has some cheap nasty plastics prone to cracks even on low mileages and if you remove the veneer it looks like an ordinary economy car.Ugly plastic buttons and wood veneers are just placed to be there with no senese of order nor beauty. Exterior looks like a big stretched C class. It does not look elegant its does not look posh/expensive, its just big. Only thing that will maybe make this car imposing is its size. W140, W126 had a feeling of imposing expensive limousine this one has non of it. It looks way worse than E class. E class w211 looks better from any direction and its interior is also way better. As I said I owned this car 11 years ago and I really dont see any valid reason why would you want any non AMG w220 in 2024. Maybe people who want to look rich for a price of a few Iphones, but anyone who is into cars will imidiately know that you dont have the money and you are not rich if you drive this car in 2024. Only AMG versions will be worthy to the collectors but majority of people are not looking for AMG and will buy this only to look "rich on a budget". Dont do that, just dont.

The W140 is truly the pinnacle of automotive engineering. It doesn't get better than this.

An elderly friend had a bright blue S280 here in Berlin. The interior was very bright grey, exactly as shown in your video. Do you know that there are some crazy engine swaps for the W124 here in Germany? V12 6 litre, 6 and 6.5 litre V12 bi-turbo of 700 hp and above, speed far above 310 km/h. 😂 Look on KZfaq for W124 V12. 😂🤭
