Annabeth is basically controlling Percy when he does something that's common sense not to do, wether it is out of rage or carelessness. I'm not saying he's stupid but as the books say, he choked Akhlys without really thinking. It is common sense not to do that. So I think Percy can definitely control most of his power, but his fatal flaw (Loyalty), which he has to Anmabeth most, is keeping him from becoming too powerful, a villain, etc. So fatal flaws can be good in a way, they're there to keep everything balanced.

He is, end of story, but that's kind of the point. Though we don't know the details of the end of his story quite yet, we know that his ending will involve hanging up his sword - or so to speak - and living a normal life with the person he loves. Percy is a hero, and what could be more heroic than yielding - to all practical effect - his great power. At this point, especially with Camps Jupiter and Half-Blood behind him, Percy has the power to topple the gods themselves, but he doesn't do this because he has no interest in doing it. He has raw power, but more than that he has the power not to be drawn-in by raw power, and this is what makes him a hero. If he were less powerful, his choice to take a backseat from saving the world and his continued loyalty to Olympus despite everything, would not be as poignant. Percy is a character of great power, but Riordan knows that his greatest power lies in letting go.

My big one is the Jason age conundrum! Because Annabeth is only 5 years (chronologically) younger than Thalia, Jason should only be 6 years younger, but when Thalia is talking to him in TLH, she says she was 8 when Jupiter started coming around again. By that logic, Jason would be 9ish years younger than Thalia and 4ish younger than Percabeth is. That, as well as Nico's age and Hazel's too, are some of my big things I noticed.
